EXILIO

Para algunos, un traslado, un cambio de dirección.
Una aventura secretamente deseada que de pronto se hizo realidad.
Para muchos una deplorable travesía hacia lo incierto.

Para los que eran afortunados, tenían propiedades bien adquiridas
y disfrutaron de las comodidades propias de un intenso trabajo,
el exilio fue la pobreza impuesta arbitrariamente,
el cambio de los palacios por el estrecho cuartucho de un hotel
sin estrellas.

Pero fue también la exaltación del decoro,
el despliegue de la más arriesgada expresión de la valentía
y la máxima manifestación del patriotismo.

Para otros, un ascenso, un salto a mejor economía
y a vivir sin mayores problemas.
Habrá quienes crean que el exilio es una bendición,
viajamos, tenemos casas más holgadas, manejamos automóviles,
y hasta buenas cuentas en el banco.

Son los que han anestesiado su dolor por Cuba ,
inyectados por la ambición desmedida por el dólar.
Hay los que asocian el exilio con la amnesia.

Para estos sus vidas empezaron aquí,
con imperdonable olvido de los años vividos allá.
Son los que cambian de nombre y de idioma,
los que se han dejado subvertir la cultura
y han aceptado calladamente una nueva geografía.

Están los que se han insertado en el cómodo espacio de la indiferencia.
No creen en las organizaciones y por eso no las apoyan.
Son los que se pasan la vida criticando a los héroes del pasado
y se han dejado clavar en la frente la dolosa marca de la resignación.

Y están también los traidores y tramitados.

Los que abandonaron un pedazo de tierra, porque patria no tenían,
y han venido para esparcir falsa ideología, para crear divisiones
y para servir en este ámbito de libertad al tirano
que ha sembrado en la Isla atropellada el crimen, el odio y la opresión.

En el exilio he visto, sin embargo,
a campesinos que han fabricado su nueva agricultura en tierra ajena
sin abjurar jamás de aquella de la que se despidieron.

He visto en el exilio a médicos y profesionales reconstruyendo sus carreras

al tiempo en que trabajaban mal pagados en fábricas hacinadas.

He conocido a escritores que sostenían la escoba en sus manos
sin olvidar la pluma que les reclamaba el regreso al romance de su vocación literaria.

He conocido en tierras de libertad a mujeres y hombres
con la altura moral de una empinada asta de bandera,
que llegaron de Cuba cuando eran niños,
prendidas sus manos de manos desconocidas.

Los padres, allá, en la tierra convulsa
se separaban lagrimosos de sus criaturas con la ilusión
de que éstas vivieran en tierra libre,
con esperanzas vestidas de limpio.

Los asombrosos niños de Peter Pan son honra del exilio cubano.
Sus logros exaltan la fertilidad del sacrificio y la libertad.

Una de las experiencias más dramáticas del exilio, para mí,
es la de despedir en un cementerio local
a un cubano que se murió con hambre de Cuba.

Pudiera intentar una larga lista,
pero siempre cometería impropias omisiones.

Voy a mencionar a un íntimo amigo que a punto de exhalar su último suspiro, me dijo con entrecortada voz:
no me duele morir, lo que me duele es morir fuera de Cuba.

El exilio es una rara combinación.
Para unos, gloria, triunfos reflectores, aplausos y riquezas.
Para otros, pobreza, soledad , escasez, insomnio y desespero.

Este exilio, que se ha ido integrando por etapas, es diverso.
Para la gente de mi edad, Cuba es innegociable,
la queremos libre, sin zurcidos en el traje.
En ese empeño hemos ido dejando pedazos de juventud.

Los que han venido llegando después
no pueden tener de Cuba el mismo recuerdo que el nuestro.
Han dejado atrás una tierra encadenada,
un sistema de opresión feroz y
un amargo sentimiento de frustración que es perdurable.

Cuando oigo a algún recién llegado
hablando despectivamente del exilio histórico,
se me sale del pecho la rebeldía.
Estos cincuenta años de destierro
contienen un cúmulo de heroísmo, sacrificio y patriotismo
que únicamente pueden negarlo los que estén ciegos por el odio
o tienen corrompido el corazón por la maldad.

El exilio es sueño interrumpido,
sonrisas que alternan con lágrimas,
nostalgias que invaden el alma,
despedidas que han dejado incurables cicatrices,
es andar al frente con el corazón mirando hacia atrás.
No importa lo que hayamos alcanzado
ni la importancia que hemos conquistado.
Para el verdadero exiliado nada hay que valga más
que la ansiosa ilusión de una patria redimida.

Hoy día existen puentes de comunicación
entre el exilio y la Isla aherrojada.
Hay quienes van a la Isla con un equipaje de sorpresas
y un plan empaquetado en carcajadas.
Son los que han cambiado el traje de desterrados
por el uniforme de turistas.
Pero hay otros que van a dar el beso último a la madre enferma
y llevan como equipaje pan para saciar el hambre
y medicinas para aliviar el mal.

Es, evidente, sin embargo, que estos trámites de los viajes a Cuba ,
sea cual fuere el motivo,
cobran el precio del silencio por parte del viajero.

A nosotros, en las primeras décadas del destierro
nos tocó una etapa dolorosa y cruel de aislamiento total.
Conozco personas, más de lo que quisiera,
que no pudieron cerrar los ojos al padre moribundo,
ni visitar a sus enfermos y seres más amados,
que en tierra cubana clamaban por un abrazo
y por una limosna de cercanía.
Cuando veo a algún cínico sonreír malévolamente,
cuando hablamos del dolor del exilio cubano,
tengo que cerrar mis puños para no golpearlo.
El que no es capaz de entender el dolor ajeno ha dejado de ser humano.

El exilio podrá tener sus momentos de alegría, sus horas de disfrute,
de abundancias y sus conquistas felices;
pero no por eso deja de ser fundamentalmente un exilio triste.

Cuando se apaga la última nota de la música,
se queda vacía la copa en que celebramos la felicidad
y regresamos a nuestro íntimo reencuentro con la almohada
y desnudamos, ante Dios, nuestra alma sin que nos importe el pudor,
sabemos que no tenemos patria,
que Cuba nos ha sido robada,
que nos espera una tumba bajo cielo extraño y que,
a fin de cuentas, por mucho que creamos tener, nada somos.
La risa es pasajera, la tristeza es resurgente.

Soy un exiliado, un viejo exiliado.
En Miami tengo hijos, nietos y biznietos, amigos y hermanos.
Pudiera decir que, a mis años, nada me falta;
pero eso sería engañarme.
Me falta Cuba , y mientras no la tenga
no seré más que un errante caminante
que anduvo por sendas que jamás le pertenecieron.

Sé que moriré fuera de Cuba , como un exiliado más;
pero el consuelo que me queda es el de que
Cuba seguirá viviendo más allá de mi muerte.
Otras manos, otras voluntades rescatarán a Cuba de la ignominia.
¡Y ese día celebraré en el cielo,
con millares de mis amados compatriotas,
la fiesta más grande que haya conocido la eternidad!

There seems to be some confusion, some of it intentional, about the meaning of the ideology behind 'Progressivism.'
*
People read the term and immediatelly see its root, 'Progress,' so they of course assume it has to do with progress, which is a positive term.
*
They most likely think of this Merriam-Webster dictionary definition, one of several: 'gradual betterment; especially : the progressive development of humankind'
*
That's it, 'The progressive development, the betterment of humankind.'!
*
But they could not be any further from the true meaning of the political and social ideology today known as 'Progressivism.'
*
Today you can equate Progressivism with Liberalism.
*
Liberalism became too associated with being leftist or socialist, so they conveniently replaced it with Progressivism, which as I said does have a positive ring to it.
*
Actually, progressivism has been around since late in the 19th century, but after WWII it morfed into liberalism and once liberalism became so connected to the left and socialism, then 'progressivism' was resurrected in order to continue misleading the people as to the true beliefs and intentions of its followers, many of which were politicians desperate to hang on to power.
*
So being 'progressive' became a good thing, mainly with the liberal elite.
*
The fact is that the present group of US senators and congressmen considered the most liberal, the most leftist, all call themselves 'Progressives.'
*
Eighty three members of congress belong to the 'Progressive Caucus', the 83 most liberal members of our legislature, among them,

John Conyers, (he of "I never read the bills I vote on, as they are too long and you need a lawyer to understand them." fame)

President Obama considers himself a Progressive, as so does Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, as well as the late senator Ted Kennedy.

In addition, an array of national liberal organizations work to support the efforts of the progressive caucus, including the Institute for Policy Studies,The Nation magazine, George Soro's MoveOn.org, National Priorities Project, Jobs with Justice, Peace Action, Americans for Democratic Action, and Progressive Democrats of America, the NAACP, ACLU, Progressive Majority, League of United Latin American Citizens, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, National Council of La Raza, Hip Hop Caucus, Human Rights Campaign, Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs, and the National Hip Hop Political Convention, as well as the most well known leftist blogs, like The Daily Kos, The Huffington Post, and others.

All a who's who of the left, including the very radical left.

According to its website, thttp://cpc.grijalva.house.gov/, the CPC advocates "universal access to affordable, high quality healthcare," fair trade agreements, living wage laws, the right of all workers to organize into labor unions and engage in collective bargaining, the abolition of the USA PATRIOT ACT, the legalization of same-sex marriage, repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell,' US participation in international treaties such as the climate change related Kyoto Accords, strict campaign finance reform laws, a complete pullout from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, stay away from foreign conflicts, a crackdown on corporate welfare and influence, a sharp increase in income tax rates on upper-middle and upper class households, tax cuts for the poor, (Tax cuts? They don't pay taxes!), and an increase in welfare spending by the federal government.

But that is just their public agenda.
*
Progressives also support government control of industry and finance as well as the horrific practice and belief called Eugenics, which would give government the means to interfere with the national gene pool (yes, I said 'gene pool') in order to do away with inferior and ill, or in their words 'defective' citizens, while promoting a superior, defect and disease-free race.
*
No, they did not learn this from Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler learned this from early 20th Century American progressives, two of them none other than presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
*
Yes, that FDR. A president that had his presidency not been 'interrupted' by WWII would have turned the US into a socialist state.
*
He already set up the framework with his 'New Deal,' and his social policies, which contrary to what liberal historians would have you believe were immersing the US into a much deeper hole than the Great Depression did.
*
We were attacked by Japan on December 7th, 1941. On December 6th our unemployment rate was 17% officially. In reality it was closer to 25%, as millions of Americans had just given up on finding work and found themselves absent from the statistics.
*
Just as the official unemployment rate today is about 9%, while in reality it is closer to 12%, as millions have stopped looking for work and therefore are not counted.
*
So the Great Depression began on October 29th, 1929, also known as Black Tuesday, as that is when the stock market crashed.
*
FDR became our president in 1932, and over the next 9 years, although spending at a frantic rate, in its time even more frantic than president Obama's in the present, believing that the way out of the depression was to spend money. He instead made things worse.
*
Sounds familiar?
*
Left alone, the nation, or rather the economy was recovering from the depression, as we believe it would recover today if the government would just leave it alone. But FDR's New Deal and its frantic spending and expansion of government pushed the country into a much deeper abyss after 1935.
*
So FDR did what many presidents do as a last resort to jumpstart the economy and mainly save his job, which was to find himself a nice war, even if it ran against his Progressive ideology.
*
I guess that besides being a progressive, FDR was a pragmatist and a realist, something our present president has started to exhibit a bit, (see Guantanamo and military tribunals, Iraq and Afghanistan, flip-flop after flip-flop).
*
Like I said, on December 6th, 1941 our unemployment rate was somewhere between the official 17% and the unofficial 25%. By the middle of 1942 everybody had a job. Seventeen million, (17 MILLION) men and women where in the armed forces, while most of the rest worked in factories that built the war machinery needed for such a war, including millions of women that had never worked before in their lives. That alone illustrates how busy our national economy was. There was no unemployment, period.

When we were attacked on 12/07/41 the US had a population of 132 million people, roughly one third of the present population of 310 million. Seventeen million men and women in the armed forces then was the equivalent of a 51 MILLION-man armed forces today (we roughly have about 3 million today), so that is a hell of a lot of jobs.
*
If WWIII were to start tomorrow and we needed the same proportion of men and women in uniform we would be in deep trouble, as there are 30 million unemployed men and women presently. That means that the nation would need an additional 18 million men and women who presently have jobs. So following this logic corporate America would be in deep trouble, missing 18 million workers.
*
Hear that, Mexico?
*
Actually, that will never happen.
*
During WWII, being a conventional war the US had the luxury of taking months and even years to build up such a behemoth of an army, as well as the war materiel needed to fight it. Today we have to do with what we already have, the 3-million-strong armed forces and our technological and nuclear capabilities, as the next major war will be over within a week, if not less.
*
Anyway, here is a memo to our president: Are you listening, Barack? You said you would create millions of new jobs? Well?
*
Events in the Middle East seem to be custom-made for you.
*
As a young man one of my bosses used to say that in order to 'shake things up' we only need to create a crisis, and everyone will fall in line.
*
Rahm Emanuel, Obama's former Chief of Staff used to say that "a good crisis should never go to waste."
*
I just went through this long historical exercise to illustrate how FDR's progressive agenda was derailed. His dying salvo was conceding half of Europe to the Russians, perhaps his warped idea of 'globalization' and a new 'world order.' But he died before he could resume his agenda and emerge from WWII with a nation practically ruled by Washington.
*
All the pieces were in place, as during WWII there was a form of martial law and a centralized control of the economy. But thankfully Harry S. Truman, followed by Eisenhower and Kennedy (his Democratic platform in 1961 would pass for the Republican platform of 2008) had different ideas, 'strange ideas', such as easing the constraints on the economy and our corporations and allowing the country to grow with little intrusion from Washington, and that is how we became the most powerful nation on earth.
*
But the progressive movement did not die with FDR. The seeds had been planted too deep and too broadly. Baby boomers, the children of the 60s rebelled against everything their parents stood for and gave new life to progressivism, then called liberalism, radicalism, socialism. Those flower children and anti-war activists are the men and women ruling this nation today. That is why we are in the mess we find ourselves today in.

Many on the left today call themselves “progressive,” and they do so not just because it’s a nicer way of saying “liberal,” but also because they very much intend to revive the political principles of America’s original Progressives, from the Progressive Era of the 1880s through World War II.
*
Why would leftist politicians, like Mrs. Clinton, purposely identify themselves with this Progressive movement?
*
The reason is that America’s original Progressives were also its original, big-government liberals.
*
Again I remind you that most people point to the New Deal era as the source of big government and the welfare state that we have today. While this is perfectly accurate, it is important to understand that the principles of the New Deal did not originate in the New Deal; rather, they came from the Progressives, who had dominated American politics and intellectual cultural a generation prior to the New Deal.
*
Does that sound like what we today call 'liberal elitism?'
*
Again, we have no less an authority on this connection than Franklin Roosevelt himself. When FDR campaigned in 1932, he pointed to the Progressives – and in particular to Woodrow Wilson – as the source of his ideas about government.
*
In terms of the personalities who made up the Progressive movement, some are familiar to us and others are not.
*
The movement was comprised of well known politicians like Woodrow Wilson; but it was also comprised of intellectuals and writers who are less well known but who have been very influential in America.
*
That sounds eerily familiar today, when we examine the 'intellectuals' spread all over the Obama administration.
*
There were folks like John Dewey, who was America’s public philosopher for much of the early 20th century. Even less well known was Herbert Croly, but Croly was highly influential, since he founded and was the first editor of The New Republic – which became the main organ of Progressive opinion in the United States, and is still one of the most important journals on the Left today.
*
I should add here that Woodrow Wilson actually fell into both of these categories – he was both a well known politician and president, but also was, for decades prior to his entry into politics, a prominent intellectual (a college professor and president of Princeton) who wrote many books and influential articles, including his creepy essays about Eugenics.
*
My definition of Eugenics: 'Elitist Racism.'
*
At this point I must mention that serious, impartial historians, not the progressive revisionists that author the history books our children are taught today, also have written broadly about President Teddy Roosevelt as one of the original progressive politicians.
*
I am not doubting their data. Except that I find Teddy Roosevelt as a bit of a contradiction.
*
While he did use a 'big stick' in dealing with corporate America, believed in Eugenics and did play with the idea of centralized government and was no fan of the founding fathers or the constitution, he was very conservative in other areas and for sure was a hawk when it came to foreign policy.
*
In my estimation he was not a progressive in the mold that Woodrow Wilson was.
*
These Progressives wanted a thorough transformation in America’s principles of government, (Obama: "I will lead a fundamental transformation of America!") from a government permanently dedicated to securing individual liberty to one whose ends and scope would change to take on any and all social and economic ills.
*
For one, progressives deride America's founding, and they want to eradicate its principles. They dare say that our constitution is a living and evolving document, code for 'we can change it as we see fit.'
*
America’s Progressives aim for a thorough transformation in America’s principles of government.
*
While our founders understood that our national government must have the capacity to be strong and vigorous, they also were very clear that this strength must always be confined to very limited ends or areas of responsibility. Government, in other words, while not weak or tiny, was to be strictly limited.
*
The roots of my Libertarianism.
*
The Progressive conception of government, on the other hand, is quite the opposite.
*
Progressives had an “evolving” or a “living” notion of government (again, we get the term “living constitution” from the Progressives), and thus want government to take on whatever role and scope the times demand.
*
The Progressives reason that people of the founding era may have wanted a limited government, given their particular experience with George III, but they argue that people today want a much more activist government, and that we should adjust the constitution accordingly.
*
Progressives hate the principles of American government.
*
They hate the Declaration of Independence, which established the protection of individual natural rights (like property) as the unchangeable purpose of government; and they hate the Constitution, which places permanent limits on the size of government and is structured in a way that makes the extension of national power beyond its original purpose very difficult.
*
“Progressivism” was, for them, all about progressing, or moving beyond, the principles of our founders. Again, 'the living and evolving' constitution.
*
This is why the Progressives were the first Americans to denounce openly our founding documents.
*
Woodrow Wilson, for example, once warned that “if you want to understand the real Declaration of Independence, do not repeat the preface” – i.e. that part of the Declaration which talks about securing individual natural rights as the only legitimate purpose of government.
*
Under the system of our founders, government was to have sufficient strength and energy to accomplish its ends, but those ends were strictly limited by the Constitution. The principal way in which the Constitution keeps the government within its boundaries is through the separation of powers.
*
The Progressives, especially Woodrow Wilson, hated the separation of powers for precisely this reason: it made government inefficient, and made it difficult, if not impossible, to expand the power of government so that it could take on all of the new tasks that Progressives had in mind. So they looked to the presidency as a way of getting around this obstacle.
*

*
Under the original system, the president was merely leader of a single branch, or part, of the government.
*
In his book Constitutional Government, Woodrow Wilson wrote that “leadership and control must be lodged somewhere.”
*
The president, Wilson pointed out, was "the only politician who could claim to speak for the people as a whole," and thus he called upon the president "to rise above the separation of powers – to consider himself not merely as chief of a single branch of government, but as the popular leader of the whole of national politics."
*
A sort of modern 'king,' or 'benign' dictator?
*
Wilson called for the president to have the power to circumvent the other branches of government in order to 'serve the people' that elected him to power.
*
It was in this way that Wilson believed the original intention of the separation of powers system could be circumvented, and the enhanced presidency could be a means energizing the kind of active national government that the progressive agenda required.
*
Since the Progressives have such a limitless view of state power, and since they want to downplay the founders’ emphasis on individual rights, it is only natural to ask if they are indeed socialists.
*
First, when comparing progressivism and socialism, we must be clear that we are talking about the similarity in the philosophy of government; we are not suggesting that America’s progressives were the kind of moral monsters that we see in the history of some socialist or fascist regimes (although it is the case that their racial views – particularly those of Woodrow Wilson, i.e. Eugenics – were indeed morally reprehensible).
*
It is also hard to compare the two, unless you compare the pure philosophies, as there is not one single purely socialist government in the world, nor has there ever been one.
*
While their beliefs and aims are similar, progressives say they oppose socialism, when they are really competing with them for the same loot.
*
Hitler's Fascism was not that dissimilar to Stalin's Communism, and yet they hated each other to the point of killing over 60 million of their countrymen.
*
In fact, Wilson ran against a socialist candidate in the 1912 election (Eugene Debs).
*
The progressives were weary about the socialist movement of their day not so much because they disagreed with it in principle, but because the American socialist movement was a movement of the lower classes.
*
The progressives were elitists; they looked down their noses at the socialists, considering them a kind of rabble.
*
Sounds familiar? Obama and his elitist 'intelligentsia' considering middle America a bunch of bible-holding and gun-toting hicks?
*
Keeping these points in mind, it is, nonetheless, the case that the progressive conception of government closely coincided with the socialist conception.
*
Look at it like the movie 'Alien vs. Predator.' They fought each other to death. But both were monsters nevertheless.
*
Both progressivism and socialism promote the philosophy that the state rules over the individual.
*
Wilson himself made this connection very plain in a revealing essay he wrote in 1887 called “Socialism and Democracy.”
*
Wilson’s begins this essay by defining socialism, explaining that it stands for absolute state power, which trumps any notion of individual rights.
*
It “proposes that all idea of a limitation of public authority by individual rights be put out of view,” Wilson wrote, and “that no line can be drawn between private and public affairs which the State may not cross at will.”
*
Read that once again, as it is a chilling statement.
*
After laying out this definition of socialism, Wilson explains that he finds nothing wrong with it in principle, since it was "merely the logical extension of genuine democratic theory. It gives all power to the people, in their collective capacity, to carry out their will through the exercise of governmental power, unlimited by any undemocratic idea like individual rights."
*
Progressives argued for a new concept of government, where individual natural rights no longer serve as a boundary that the state was prohibited from crossing.
*
Progressives call for the state to take an active role in creating economic equality (Hmmm, "spreading the wealth"?) by way of controlling the use of private property.
*
Progressives argue that private property rights, are to be respected only insofar as the government approved.
*
If the government believes that any private property would better serve the collective (the people) in the control of the government, then it has the right to confiscate or to apply strict controls to such property.
*
GM? Chrysler? Wall Street?
*
So is our current national crisis the result of progressive policies?
*
Duh!
*
The first connection concerns the official ignorance of the Constitution.
*
And this is one main reason why I am not a Republican, much less a Democrat. This is why I am Libertarian.
*
The present crisis did not appear out of nowhere, and didn’t simply begin with the election of Barack Obama, as much as I would love to blame him for all of this disaster.
*
Politicians of both parties spent the better part of the 20th century disregarding the Constitution, as they looked to have government step up to solve every conceivable human problem.
*
From the New Deal, through The Great Society, through Bush's benign, or 'compassionate conservatism' our government has been growing at an accelerated rate into the monster it is today which in its unending hunger it is consuming itself and everything around it with no means to slow it down, much less stop it.
*
Thus it ought to be no surprise that the Constitution’s limits on government aren’t even part of the conversation today as our politicians debate the new interventions in our economy and society that seem to come daily.

Basically, progressives believe that the role of government should be determined not by our Constitution, but by whatever the needs of the day happen to be.

This is why they try to eradicate talk of the Constitution from our political discourse.

They have been quite successful at it for years.

Progressives know that our original system of government is not capable of handling all of the new tasks that they have in mind for it. So they have created a vast set of bureaucratic agencies, lead by the afore mentioned and unaccountable 'Czars'.

They believe that Congress should enact very broad and vague laws for supervising more and more facets of the American economy and society, and then delegate to the bureaucratic agencies the power and discretion to enact specific policies, bypassing congress and thus constitutional scrutiny.

The New Deal, Great Society, etc. certainly went a long way toward implementing this progressive vision, and what we have seen in our own situation with TARP, Stimulus and the various other interventions is simply greater steps toward the progressive plan.

Our Congress has simply said to the Treasury agencies: here’s a trillion dollars, here’s all the legal authority you need, now go out, determine what is in the public interest, and spend and regulate accordingly.

That is the progressive vision of government, in a nutshell.
*
But the tide may be changing, as today there is a new breed of American: educated, intellectual, yet approachable constitutionalists that have been catching the attention of mainstream America, reminding us all what America was and is all about, returning us back to our principles, the principles of our founding fathers.

These men and women, from their radio, TV, Internet and printed media pulpits have been reeducating us about our founding fathers, our constitution and the principles our nation was founded on, the principles that no matter the passing of time, will hold strong and true forever.

The Newt Gingriches, Rush Limbaughs and Glenn Becks of the world are very controversial due to their so-called 'bombastic' and supposedly 'fear mongering' styles, according to the liberal, or progressive media and politicians.

Except it is not 'fear mongering' when you are telling the truth, and perhaps you need to be somewhat bombastic if you are to be heard.

Nevertheless, if you would just ignore the noise, the made for radio and TV antics and listen closely, you would hear the truth that has been missing from the national discourse for so long.

Not that I particularly support him for president in 2012, but if Newt Gingrich were the Republican candidate he would wipe the floor with Barack Obama each time they faced each other in a debate. Gingrich, a history professor and author by profession is as big an authority on American and world history, our founding fathers and most of all our constitution as you will ever find among politicians.

He carries a lot of baggage, but man he sure knows the subject.

We can plant it. Even if the distribution system stops operating we can still grow food if we are forced to.

Were you aware that millions of acres of farm land are becoming wastelands because of lack of water to keep them fertile? Even here in the US we have serious droughts in places like California, one, or the one state that produces more food than any other?

Were you aware that there are nations that depend on the same source for their water, thus creating a serious problem for them once that source becomes scarce, and/or they stop willing to share that water?

Even here in the US some states depend on water sources located in other states. Nevada's Hoover dam not only provides water, (and electricity) for Nevada, but for Southern California as well.

If Lake Meade, an artificial lake formed when the Hoover Dam was built suddenly starts running dry, you are sure to see serious quarreling between California, Nevada and the federal government.

Actually, large farms have died, or are dying in California for lack of water for irrigation. That is happening right now at this moment.

The fact of the matter is that we are running out of clean water really fast.

On one hand the water reservoirs are dwindling, while the world's population continues to increase, a population that consumes more and more water. And in places like China and India, where hundreds of millions used to live in squalor bathing in and drinking excrement-filled and bacteria infested water a large percentage of those people are escaping their once miserable lives and are increasingly becoming part of a rapidly growing middle class that demands pure, clean water for drinking, for cooking, for bathing, etc.

As our water reserves decrease, and hundreds of millions of people are added to the other hundreds of millions already depending on this water there has to be a breaking point down the road, don't you think so?

It is not a question to ponder, it is a fact we must face now, as in today, right now, as this is a crisis ready to explode at any moment.

They talk and report about nations going to war over oil, over land, over religion, and over so many other causes.

Friends, those wars, regionalized fights and worldwide disturbances are nothing compared to what we are facing once we all realize that the one resource we need the most is running out.

Face it. The world will go to war over water rights. Simple as that.

China needs clean water for its 1.3 billion people. India needs clean water for its 1.1 billion people. The US needs clean water for its 310 million people, and on and on.

Governments will stop being diplomatic and playing nice with each other over current problems, like oil, ethnic conflicts, religious conflicts, the race to be the most powerful economies and most powerful military powers.

When it comes to the survival of its own people, all bets are off, no more being niece, no more meeting at the UN. No more empty threats.

When it comes to the survival of its own people the nations of the world will do what they must do to survive, and that is to fight for the one resource they cannot live without, water.

Damned be the consequences of a nuclear war, or hyper-conventional ground war over conquering lands with water reservoirs. What does the world have to lose? It will be a matter of life and death.

If you succeed in conquering a nation that has water you will live. If you do not, then you will die, simple as that.

Well, if you still do not believe we have a crisis after reading the following, then I can only say that I warned you.

Or you will say, 'So what am I supposed to do?' and just go on with your business, just hoping for the best.

Well, there are things you can do. I mean, you will not avert this crisis from happening. It is here already. It will engulf us within a few short years. No escaping it. But you can do some things to help yourself,....................to an extent.

It is like me telling you to go hide up in the Andes mountains once a nuclear war is unleashed upon the world, as you will live the longest, since the radioactive cloud will perhaps reach you last.

But it will reach you nevertheless. Just as you may buy yourself some time once 'the water wars' commence, but eventually the water you saved for yourself will also run out. No escaping it.

You may also say that technology will make it possible for us to have clean water, be it by creating it, desalinating ocean water, recycling it, etc.

Yes, yes and yes. But the technology is at its infancy and we do not have the other necessary resources, much less the time to create the necessary technological infrastructure to avert a water crisis.

Pay attention to the following.

The water you drink today has likely been around in one form or another since dinosaurs roamed the Earth, hundreds of millions of years ago.
*
While the amount of freshwater on the planet has remained fairly constant over time—continually recycled through the atmosphere and back into our cups—the population has exploded. This means that every year competition for a clean, copious supply of water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and sustaining life intensifies.
*
Water scarcity is an abstract concept to many and a stark reality for others. It is the result of myriad environmental, political, economic, and social forces.
*
Freshwater makes up a very small fraction of all water on the planet.
*
Again, while nearly 70 percent of the world is covered by water, only 2.5 percent of it is fresh. The rest is saline and ocean-based. Even then, just 1 percent of our freshwater is easily accessible, with much of it trapped in glaciers and snowfields. In essence, only 0.007 percent of the planet's water is available to fuel and feed its 6.8 billion people.

And even if you live in a Western, or 'First World' society, do not be so sure that the water you drink is suitable.
*
Water treatment plant technology has not advanced at the necessary pace.
*
While water treatment plants do remove 'most' sewage from the water, and most bacteria, they do not remove some of the chemicals dumped into our reservoirs by factories and plants, and they do not remove some of the pharmaceutical components of drugs, which are dumped by humans into the water. The modern filters are just not modern enough, as they cannot remove all of these chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Chemicals and pharmaceuticals are created at a much faster rate than the water treatment industry can catch up with them before they reach your drinking water supply.

Due to geography, climate, engineering, regulation, and competition for resources, some regions seem relatively flush with freshwater, while others face drought and debilitating pollution.
*
In much of the developing world, clean water is either hard to come by or a commodity that requires laborious work or significant economic resources to obtain.
*
Wherever they are, people need water to survive. Not only is the human body 60 percent water, the resource is also essential for producing food, clothing, and computers, moving our waste stream, and keeping us and the environment healthy.
*
Unfortunately, humans have proved to be inefficient water users, as we take it for granted and do not protect it as we should.
*
According to the United Nations, water use has grown at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century.
*
By 2025, if we get there, an estimated 1.8 billion people will live in areas plagued by water scarcity, with two-thirds of the world's population living in water-stressed regions as a result of use, growth, and climate change.
*
The challenge we face now is how to effectively conserve, manage, and distribute the water we have.
*
The History Channel, recently presented “Prophets of Doom,” highlighting five scholars who discussed possible sources of a coming Apocalypse:
*
1) Shrinking oil and natural gas supplies upon which growing world populations depend;
*
2) Insolvent global financial systems;
*
3) Nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists;
*
4) Artificial Intelligent Robots advanced enough to enslave human beings;
*
(This is the one 'apocalyptic event' I do not necessarily disbelief, but think it is so far off that the world might not exist by then anyway.)
*
5) The shrinking supply of fresh water.
*
The experts include: Michael Ruppert, Nathan Hagens, John Cronin, James Howard Kunstler, Professor Hugo De Garis and Robert Gleason, all internationally known experts in their fields.
*
The problem, of course, is that all of these warnings could converge on the earth at one time.
*
But the experts agreed that the coming shortage of fresh water around the world threatens the element most essential for human life.
*
Well-published scholar, John Cronin is both Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries and the Senior Fellow for Environmental Affairs at the Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies at Pace University.
*
Cronin stresses three areas in his report as one of the Prophets of Doom:

Not only is fresh water running low, its quality is getting worse, and as shortages increase, diseases from bad waters will also increase.
*
Co-author of The Riverkeepers with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Cronin insists that this problem can be solved:
*
“One billion people are without safe water. We have the know-how and compassion to correct that tragedy, and harmonize forever the human and natural worlds. This is the greatest challenge of the 21st century.”
*
Cronin has a website, http://www.johncronin.net/, which publishes “The Blue Times: News From a Blue Planet.” It includes links to articles on: declining water supplies; raw sewage and radioactive debris in drinking water; industrial dumping of millions of pounds of toxic waste into these waters; and failures of national and local government agencies to warn citizens of these poisons or to cleanse the water.

When most U.S. citizens think about water shortages — if they think about them at all — they think about a local problem, possibly in their town or city, maybe their state or region. We don't usually regard such problems as particularly worrisome, sharing confidence that the situation will be readily handled by investment in infrastructure, conservation, or other management strategies. Whatever water feuds arise, e.g., between Arizona and California, we expect to be resolved through negotiations or in the courtroom.

But shift from a local to a global water perspective, and the terms dramatically change. The World Bank reports that 80 countries now have water shortages that threaten health and economies while 40 percent of the world — more than 2 billion people — have no access to clean water or sanitation. In this context, we cannot expect water conflicts to always be amenably resolved.

Consider: More than a dozen nations receive most of their water from rivers that cross borders of neighboring countries viewed as hostile. These include Botswana, Bulgaria, Cambodia, the Congo, Gambia, the Sudan, and Syria, all of whom receive 75 percent or more of their fresh water from the river flow of often hostile upstream neighbors.

In the Middle East, a region marked by hostility between nations, obtaining adequate water supplies is a high political priority. For example, water has been a contentious issue in recent negotiations between Israel and Syria. In recent years, Iraq, Syria and Turkey have exchanged verbal threats over their use of shared rivers. (It should come as no surprise to learn that the words "river" and "rival" share the same Latin root; a rival is "someone who shares the same stream.")

More frequently water is being likened to another resource that quickened global tensions when its supplies were threatened. A story in The Financial Times of London began: "Water, like energy in the late 1970s, will probably become the most critical natural resource issue facing most parts of the world by the start of the next century." This analogy is also reflected in the oft-repeated observation that water will likely replace oil as a future cause of war between nations.

Global water problems are attracting increasing attention, not just at the international level, but also within the United States, in its popular press, in natural resource journals and as the subject of books.
*
Former Sen. Paul Simon from Illinois recently authored Tapped Out: The Coming World Crisis in Water and What We Can Do About it. A book for the general, non-specialized audience, Simon's publication sounds an alarm about the approaching crisis. "Within a few years, a water crisis of catastrophic proportions will explode upon us — unless aroused citizens ... demand of their leadership actions reflecting vision, understanding and courage."

A prime cause of the global water concern is the ever-increasing world population. As populations grow, industrial, agricultural and individual water demands escalate. According to the World Bank, world-wide demand for water is doubling every 21 years, more in some regions. Water supply cannot remotely keep pace with demand, as populations soar and cities explode.
*
Population growth alone does not account for increased water demand. Since 1900, there has been a six-fold increase in water use for only a two-fold increase in population size. This reflects greater water usage associated with rising standards of living (e.g., diets containing less grain and more meat). It also reflects potentially unsustainable levels of irrigated agriculture. (See sidebar.) World population has recently reached six billion and United Nation's projections indicate nine billion by 2050. What water supplies will be available for this expanding population?

Meanwhile many countries suffer accelerating desertification. Water quality is deteriorating in many areas of the developing world as population increases and salinity caused by industrial farming and over-extraction rises. About 95 percent of the world's cities still dump raw sewage into their waters.
*
A technological solution that some believe would provide ample supplies of additional water resources is desalination. Some researchers fault the United States for not providing more support for desalination research. Once the world leader in such research, this country has abdicated its role, to Saudi Arabia, Israel and Japan. There are approximately 11,000 desalination plants in 120 nations in the world, 60 percent of them in the Middle East.

I now remember mentioning this to a friend that worked at the local water treatment facility and he matter-of-factly shot down my desalination answer to the crisis by saying the plants would have to be humongous, scattered all over the coastline and the cost would be prohibitive. So there goes that solution. I still believe it is a sound one, but if those in charge of procuring our fresh water do not believe in it, there is not much I can do, either.

Others argue that a market approach to water management would help resolve the situation by putting matters on a businesslike footing. They say such an approach would help mitigate the political and security tensions that exacerbate international affairs. For example, the Harvard Middle East Water Project wants to assign a value to water, rather than treat rivers and streams as some kind of free natural commodity, like air.
*
Other strategies to confront the growing global water problem include slowing population growth, reducing pollution, better management of present supply and demand and, of course, not to be overlooked, water conservation. As Sandra Postel writes in her book, Last Oasis, "Doing more with less is the first and easiest step along the path toward water security."

Then there is the issue of facing the hard facts head on.

I was watching the Home Channel recently about I believe an American couple moving to Australia and looking to buy a home. In Australia nowadays many homes have a huge 'water catcher' tank in their back yard. A huge aluminum tank that stores rainwater for use for irrigation, and even washing, etc. The Americans nixed every home that included such a tank, as they said they looked terrible, an eyesore, not thinking about how it would help them conserve water and be eco-conscious.

But I repeat, this crisis will envelop us sooner or later nevertheless, no matter the many clever ideas we come up with to save or sanitize our water. These ideas, like the one in Singapore and the one in Australia (I think they have these tanks in New Zealand as well) will only extend the inevitable for just a bit.

I bet there will soon be individual home-sized recycling mini plants you may be able to install. Perhaps also home deslination mini plants for coastal regions. You can also borrow the ideas from Singapore and Australia. You may dig deep and find natural water wells, (with an expiration date).

They may come up with a feasible, practical way to convert hydrogen into water. Who knows?

No, you cannot go to your local market and buy all their stock of bottled water. As I understand it it has an expiration date. Why, I do not know.

But the idea is that this is a crisis we must be aware of. We will not solve this crisis, at least not with the technology we presently have. And if there is a technology to be invented, I do not know if it will be invented soon enough to avert this crisis.

The video shows nearly 20 young children taught a song overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president’s name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country’s economy No. 1 again.

The video identifies the kids as students at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., with taping taking place last June.

The song quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."

Well, we saw the pictures from Madison, Wisconsin, where thousands of school teachers abandoned their jobs, shutting down the school system, in order to protest against the government over their union rights.

Bad enough that these teachers were setting a bad example with their loud and often violent demonstrations, but many took their students along and had them carry placards and chant anti-government and pro-union slogans.

Where the heck were the parents?

This kind of training is reminiscent of Soviet-style indoctrination and the recent stories leaking out of North Korea in the summer of 2009 when Kim Jong il was reportedly close to stepping down and handing over control to his son.

Dong-A Ilbo (the country’s official newspaper) stated that North Korea notified its diplomatic offices and is teaching its people a song in praise of the anointed leader.

The North Korean school children started learning the song first. Indoctrination starts with the young ones.

In the Soviet Union, as well as in Nazi Germany children were taught that their real father was the nation's leader, as in Hitler and Stalin. And they were also taught to tell the authorities if they ever heard their parents talk badly of the government.

Writing the essay “Reasons for American Withdrawal from the United Nations,” now found at www.drgermanmunoz.com, was a painful experience. After all, most of us are taught that the United Nations is the last hope for humanity to bring forth world peace, prosperity, and freedom. Who could be against these wonderful ideals?

However, the United Nations has now become a threat to national sovereignty, peace, prosperity, freedom, and to life itself. It is impotent in preventing genocide. A significant number of countries do not even abide by its Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document whose first drafts were developed by Catholic Cuban intellectuals. Ironically, some of the members of its Human Rights Council are murdering dictatorships.

Many countries are responsible for the moral decline, corruption, and betrayal of the United Nations, but Communist and Islamic states top the list. As a result of their intolerance, violence, and dictatorial rule many of the original core principles of the institution have been undermined. Their bloc voting at the United Nations prevents much needed reforms and the expelling of members who violate the UN Charter and its Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Sadly ,the United States, a country where 80% of the population is Christian, contributes financially to an organization whose Communist and Islamic states have made Christians the most persecuted group in the world. The United Nations is either unwilling or unable to stop this persecution. Other groups are also targeted. And yet, these criminal countries are not expelled from the United Nations. In fact, they are actually running much of the UN bureaucracy.

Human Rights and Islam

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) of the United Nations expresses some of the highest aspirations of humanity. Unfortunately, a literal interpretation of the Koran and the Hadith, as well as the desire to implement Islamic Law (Sharia), would put Islam and Muslim countries in conflict with many of the articles of the Declaration.

Article I advocates equal rights, but women and non-Muslims are inferior under Islamic law.

Article 2 is against religious discrimination, but the infidels are supposed to be discriminated, humiliated, over-taxed, or killed according to the Koran and the Hadith.

Article 3, urges protection of the right to life, liberty and security, but these liberties are not extended in parts of Islam to the unbelievers, for unbelief is, for many literalist Muslims, the greatest sin which should not be tolerated.

Article 4 is against slavery, but slavery is allowed in the Koran.

Article 5 is against torture, but the Koran, the Hadith, and Islamic Law, allow crucifixion and amputations, among other types of tortures.

Article 6 recognizes the value of a free person before the law, but there is little notion in Islam of a person who can make free choices.

Articles 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 support the rights of the accused person to a fair trial, but equality, good faith, truth and justice do not play major roles in Islam as does submission to Allah's will. Revenge and honor killing are officially sanctioned, non-Muslims cannot testify against a Muslim under Sharia law, and the evidence that can be presented by women is restricted, leading often to their murders.

Article 16 respects the right to marry by men and women, but under Islamic law women and non-Muslims do not have equal rights.

Article 18 defends the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including the right to change one's religion, but Muslims do not have the right to change their religion if one is born into Islamic family, and the price of apostasy can often be death, and there is no political or religious freedom accepted under literal Islam.

Article 19 allows freedom of employment, but women are not free to choose their work under Islamic law, Muslims must rule over non-Muslims, and power must belong to Muslims.

Obviously, the literal interpretation of the most important Islamic documents are in conflict with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This does not mean that all Muslims are unable to live lives compatible with the Declaration. However, for them to do so they must reinterpret the original documents or argue that many of their teachings apply only to the times of Muhammad. Many are unwilling to do so because they think that the Koran is the eternal word of Allah. At times, some of the freedom-loving Muslims simply ignore the war verses in their documents.

Inalienable Human Rights

The first theory of inalienable human rights and the argument for the removal of tyrants did not arise with Hellenes, Romans, Muslims, Chinese, Africans, Amerindians, or with other civilizations. Instead, these contributions were created by the Church between the 800’s and the 1200’s.

They began as a reflection on the revelation to Moses, particularly the insight that man was created in the image and likeness of God with the powers to reason, to choose freely and to love beyond the group. The Church continued this intellectual work with the reflection on the teachings of the Christ.

This body of thought came useful as the Church battled the German emperors and other enemies. The world has forgotten that behind the Magna Carta of 1215 was the Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury and a Judeo-Christian conception of rights, as well as the theory of interposition to remove tyrants who violated the right to property, life, and others.

This theory of human rights was continued after the 1500’s with Protestant reflections on the matter. The Protestants promoted the idea that resistance to tyrants is obedience to God. Their thinking influenced Brutus, Locke, Jefferson and many others and led. Unfortunately, there is no Islamic contribution to the idea of personal human rights.

Allah is not Christ and Islam is not Christianity

Perhaps the differences between Christianity and Islam when it comes to human rights and other topics can be explained in part by some theological contrasts:

· Allah is very far away and removed from humanity, but the Christian God, who is a Trinity, created man in their own image and likeness, and then God became man and lived among us.
· Allah is a master, but the Christian God is a Father, and if He is a Father, man is not a slave, like in Islam, but His child, His heir and even His friend.
· Allah is beyond human understanding, but the Christian God, whose essence is love, is revealed to us by Christ.
· Allah does as he pleases with man, sometimes making him do good and at other times making him do bad, but the Christian God created man with a free will so that man can freely choose good and avoid evil.
· Allah urges Muslims to be merciful only with each other, but the Christian God commands that we love God, that we love neighbor, that we love ourselves, and even that we love our enemies.
· Allah’s main desire is one of submission of all to Islam, but the Christian God’s main desire is for all to spend eternity with Him.
· Allah fuses political, military, and religious authority in one person, but the Christian God reveals that we should give to Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and to God the things which are God’s.
· Allah wants fighting to be obligatory, but the Christian God makes love and forgiveness mandatory.
· Allah demands submissiveness from man, but the Christian God became man to redeem and to serve humanity.

Conclusion

The truth is that from literal Islam you cannot get to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is intellectually impossible. They are two totally different world views. One is obsessed with submission. The other one is grounded on the desire for freedom which the human person, created in the image and likeness of God, needs to become fully human.

Good intentioned people often argue that literal Islam is compatible with our Western freedoms and with human rights. Perhaps they want all of us to get along so that we can live in peace. They are even willing to ignore some views which literal Muslims have which would make it impossible for peaceful coexistence to take place. Some of these ideas have to do with killing us. Yet, these good people ignore the war verses because they treasure social harmony.

This desire for peace at all cost, which some people have, was used by the Communists, the Fascists, and the Nazis to convince good and well-intentioned people during the 1920’s, 1930’s, and 1940’s to join them in broad popular fronts which appeared peaceful but which were actually controlled by violent men. Then, at the appropriate time, the truth was revealed and the killing began. Therefore, we need to learn that the pursuit of the truth is most important to keep the people free and safe.

Ironically, the only way that we can help freedom-loving, moderate Muslims survive and expand their numbers in their fight against those who want to abolish our inalienable human rights is to intellectually and politically defeat those Muslims seeking to impose literal Islam on the rest of us. Our immigration policies, security clearance processes, business and cultural environments and other concerns should ensure that the “children of freedom” be kept apart from the “children of forced submissiveness”.

However, I feel you are going out of your way to be kind towards the UN.

To me for many years the UN has been totally irrelevant, toothless, unable to carry out its original mission and a hornet's nest of anti-American sentiment.

Its usefulness has long expired.
*
I find it outrageous that their Human Rights Commission has opted to compose over a hundred resolutions accusing Israel of human rights abuses, while it has only issued I believe just one condemning Iran.
*
Just the fact that Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, and other human rights violators sit on such commission invalidates their purpose and makes a mockery of its existence.
*
The moment I heard that Secretary of State Hilary Clinton was going to Geneva to procure a resolution against Libya, actually taking several days to fly there, while thousands of innocent civilians died on the streets of Tripoli, I realized the US had no plans to intervene in the Libyan crisis.
*
An emergency weekend session of the UN Security Council to enact sanctions against Libya is another joke.
*
What are sanctions going to accomplish at this point, when the crisis is so fluid and Qaddafi is set to not only continue murdering his people but is planning on setting the nation on fire, including its oil wells?
*
Sanctions, which to me have usually been meaningless, are imposed for long term effect. This crisis is short-termed, as within days it will be decided whether Qaddafi remains in power, (which I doubt) or whether a coalition of multiple tribes succeed in toppling him from power.
*
The only solution at this point is for the US unilaterally, or along with NATO to interfere militarily to stop the genocide and bring to Libya a modicum of stability.
*
But the times have conspired against such a move, as there are three reasons why the US and Europe are taking their time thinking about such move.
*
Actually it is just one reason, MONEY.
*
1. Both Europe and the US are in critical economic shape, not able to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars it would initially take to invade Libya.
*
2. Similarly, these nations know that were they to invade Libya and ouster Qaddafi they would need to remain in Libya a long time, and spend a lot more money preparing that nation for a democratic election, which would tie up a lot of resources, again mainly monetary, not to mention the thousands of troops needed on the ground, a luxury the US does not have.
*
3. And also tied to both above is the experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan. These nations have seen that the US has spent 10 years in these nations, costing it over a trillion dollars so far, and they just do not have the stomach or resources to add Libya to their nation-building group.
*
These events could not have taken place at a worst time for the West, which tell me that they for sure have been in the works for a long time, planned and manipulated by Muslim and socialist extremists salivating at the thought of filling the vacuums left in all these Islamic nations that are dropping one by one like domino pieces.
*
Terrible times are ahead of us.
*
Once extremist governments take over these nations you can kiss the Middle East goodbye, and eventually perhaps even the whole world, as they will unleash wars to invade other Arab nations and of course will carry out their one purpose for living, eradicating Israel from the face of the earth.

What at the beginning will be an enormous conventional war, fought on the ground and by jet fighters will soon turn into a nuclear conflagration, once Israel finds itself on the losing end.

Yes, they will be obliterated, but not before they land nuclear punches all over the Middle East.

'Planned Parenthood,' es una cadena de clinicas en Estados Unidos supuestamente dedicadas a asistir a las mujeres, tanto maduras como jovenes sobre su cuidado personal, ofreciendo consejos sobre anticonceptivos, etc. con el proposito oficial de ayudar a mujeres de bajos recursos.

Debido a 'tan noble' mision el gobierno federal por muchos anos ha subsidiado esta organizacion, en recientes anos dandoles mas de $300 millones anualmente, dinero que sale de los impuestos que el pueblo paga al gobierno.

Se ha descubierto que P.P. ha dedicado el 95% de sus servicios a proveer abortos gratis, y esa cifra significa mas del 10% de los abortos anuales llevados a cabo en este pais.

Por supuesto que una mayoria del pueblo americano hoy dia se opone al aborto, pero una mayoria mas grande aun se opone a que sus impuestos sean utilizados para proveer abortos gratis.

Recientemente, siendo investigados por activistas en contra del aborto les han grabado y filmado ocasiones en que han violado las leyes, aconsejando y proveendo abortos a ninas menores de edad sin contar con el permiso de sus padres, a quienes por ley tienen que informar hasta que la nina sea adulta.

Por otro lado no han reportado obvios casos de violacion y violencia recibida por tales ninas.

Inclusive recientemente, y esta grabado en video, en mas de una occasion la supuesta cliente los ha visitado con el pretexto de ser ninas menores de edad dedicada a la prostitucion, quienes necesitaban aborto, y los representantes de P.P. sin pensarlo dos veces les han indicado que no tienen nada que temer, pues ellos les proporcionarian abortos sin tener que notificar las autoridades o padres, violando las leyes, puesto que no solo es la prostitucion ilegal, sino que los que someten ninas menores de edad a la prostitucion estan practicando no solo violacion de menores, sino trafico de humanos con fines de lucro.

The embattled regime of Muammar al-Qaddafi is arming civilian supporters to set up checkpoints and roving patrols around the Libyan capital to control movement and quash dissent, residents said Saturday.

Because of lack of support by the Libyan army, Qaddafi has been relying on extremist tribes, (Libya is a tribal nation) and imported mercenaries, giving them orders to fire and kill protesters indiscriminately.
*
The reports came a day after protesters demanding Qaddafi's ouster came under a hail of bullets when pro-regime tribesmen and mercenaries opened fire to stop the first significant anti-government marches in days in the Libyan capital.
*
The Libyan leader told supporters to prepare to defend the nation as he faced the biggest challenge to his 42-year rule, with rebels having seized control of about half of the country's coastline, mostly in the western part of the country.
*
"At the suitable time, we will open the arms depot so all Libyans and tribes become armed, so that Libya becomes red with fire," Qaddafi said.
*
"If I have to die a martyr I will, as I will fight until my last drop of blood.' 'If it comes to that, before I die I will set this country on fire."
*
The meek, Pontius Pilot-like international community stepped up its response to the bloodshed, while Americans and other foreigners were evacuated from the chaos roiling the North African nation.
*
The U.N. Security Council, a bastion of 'strength and respect worldwide' planned to meet Saturday for a second day to consider an arms embargo against the Libyan government and a travel ban and asset freeze against Qaddafi, his relatives and key members of his government.
*
An arms embargo? Jeeez, at this point Qaddafi is not worried about weapons due to be received in the next few months. He is relying on the heavy weaponry he has right now.
*
Don't talk to me about an arms embargo. Are they kiddin' me? Are they joking?

President Barack Obama signed an executive order Friday freezing assets held by Qaddafi and four of his children in the United States. The Treasury Department said the sanctions against Qaddafi, three of his sons and a daughter also apply to the Libyan government.

Wow, that will really put the fear of God into Qaddafi. How much money do you think he has in the US, except for some house in New Jersey. Of all places, New Jersey? Is he a fan of The Sopranos. No wonder he is doing such a fine job of 'whacking' his opponents.

If he did keep money in US banks he deserves to be toppled just for being an idiot.

But his billions of dollars are spread all over the world, as in Switzerland, Monaco, Grand Cayman and so many other protected secrtet banking meccas, and probably under his mattress as well.

In Tripoli, most residents remained in their homes Saturday, terrified of bands of armed men running checkpoints and patrolling the city.
*
A 40-year-old business owner said he had seen Qaddafi supporters enter one of the regime's Revolutionary Committee headquarters Saturday and leave with arms.
*
He said the regime is offering a car and money to any supporters bringing three people with them to join the effort.
*
Murders for clunkers?

Sure sounds like US 'community organizers' transporting people to polling places.
*
"Someone from the old revolutionary committees will go with them so they'll be four," the witness said when reached by telephone from Cairo. "They'll arm them to drive around the city and terrorize people."
*
Other residents reported seeing trucks full of civilians with automatic rifles patrolling their neighborhoods. Many of the men are young, even teenagers, and wear green arm bands or cloths on their heads to show their affiliation to the regime, residents said. All spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
*
Most shops were closed and long lines formed at bakeries of people venturing from their homes for supplies.
*
In the Souq al-Jomaa neighborhood, piles of ashes stood in front of a burned-out police station. Graffitti on the walls read, "Down, Down with Qaddafi." Elsewhere, shattered glass and rocks littered the streets.
*
A law school graduate walking to his house in the Fashloum area said he had seen many people shot dead by snipers in recent days.
*
"People are panicked, they are terrified. Few leave their houses. When it gets dark, you can't walk in the streets because anybody who walks is subject to be shot to death," he said.

He said Qaddafi's use of force against protesters had turned him against the regime.
*
"We Libyans cannot hear that there were other Libyans killed and remain silent," he said. "Now everything he says is a lie."

But the world remains silent of sorts, only paying lip service to this tragedy, this genocide by a world class terrorist.

In the meantime President Obama dispatches Secretary of State Hilary Clinton to Geneva to ask that Libya be stripped of its seat on the Council On Human Rights.

Man, is that going to really hurt Qaddafi's feelings!

And of course, Obama's current policy on Libya is calling for a UN Security Council resolution condemning the massacre.

If there ever was a clear cut reason for the international community, the UN, NATO, or the US acting unilaterally or whatever to invade Libya and arrest Qaddafi this is it.

Then again, President Obama is just a small time 'community organizer,' with no foreign relations experience whatsoever. And when they meet in the 'situation room' at the White House he pays more attention to his Chicago streetwise hoodlums than to his intelligence experts and high ranking members of the US military.

Well, maybe I left one or two, J.F.K. and Slick Willy, who loved to wrestle the opposite sex. Ha, ha, that's right, Slick Willy loved 'the standing 'broad' jump'!

While J.F.K. also loved swimming in his custom built basement pool, except he loved to do it in the buff with some gal named M.M. who soon after was found dead from an overdose. Overdose of what, mafia thugs?

The punch must have been spiked a bit, as after a few drinks Johnny Legend approached the Pres and complained about tax cuts, saying that as a millionaire he did not need them. He even said we should all send a check to the I.R.S. to help with the deficit.

Johnny, you sure are a legend. In your own mind.

But perhaps he may not have been sauced up at all. At one point, just before they saw him being escorted out by some guys in black suits he said that he did not know a single friend in Hollywood that contributed one cent to the government and in fact tried to avoid contributing anything at all, except their presence whenever 'Big O' paid a visit.

And of course, 'Big O' has a preference for dark-skinned entertainers. Not only was Johnny Legend there, but also Jamie Foxx and Seal. Cheryl Crow was the token white gal.

'Big O' asked Seal why the scar on his face and before Seal could reply he said with his toothy, room-illuminating grin, "I know, playing B-ball with a girl, right?" and then he walked away laughing at his own attempt at a joke.

Heck, if I had a party I would invite those I would feel comfortable with, like perhaps Bono, Steven Tyler, and Mick Jagger, with whom I bet I could have a fun conversation, cool cats all three. And to mix it up I would add a K.D. Lang. Now that would be interesting! With a little tent with one person I have just about included all minorities. If only she were black. When I heard on the news that US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton was being dispatched to Geneva, Switzerland, home of the United Nations Human Rights Council to present the US case for sanctions against Libya I thought, 'This president is for sure not taking the Libyan situation seriously and is sending Ms. Clinton there just for show and to tell the world he is doing something about the crisis.'

I say he was announcing this to the world, as generally the world supports the H.R.C., because most members of the United Nations are anti-American and support either overtly or through their silence the many nations that violate the human rights of its citizens.
*
I say that this commission is a 'joke' because for the last several years its members have very seldom mentioned obvious human rights abuses in repressive nations around the world, while concentrating on drafting resolution after resolution condemning the United States and Israel of committing human rights violations.
*
I believe over the last few years it condemned Iran once, while condemning Israel over 150 times.
*
According to independent human rights groups, the council is controlled by a bloc of Islamic and African states, backed by China, Cuba and Russia, who
protect each other from criticism. UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and former High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson have criticized the council for acting according to political considerations as opposed to human rights.
*
Specifically, Secretaries General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki Moon, the council's president Doru Costea, the European Union, Canada and the United States have accused the council of focusing disproportionately on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
*
The United States boycotted the Council during the George W. Bush administration, but reversed its position on it during the Obama administration, a noted supporter of Palestinians and a critic of Israel.
*
To save on words let me just mention some of the member nations sitting on the U.N. Human Rights Council, the nations whose job it is to examine human rights abuses all over the world and sort of issue a 'report card' each year.
*
Such nations are: China, Cuba, Jordan, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi-Arabia, and last but definitely not least LIBYA, the very same nation Secretary Clinton is trying to get the council to condemn.
*
The sitting nations have the power to veto resolutions, so since Libya and its ideological allies are in charge, Clinton's efforts will have the effect of another half inch of snow on the Swiss alps. Nada!
*
I should have known this for days. The skeptic in me held his tongue, thinking that the Libyan genocide, as ordered by Muammar Gaddafi was such an obvious example of genocide and of needing direct intervention by the international community, as NATO did in the 90s when Slobodan Milosevic, the Serbian dicator ordered the slaughter of all Bosnian Muslims.
*
NATO jet fighters obliterated Milosevic's forces and apprehended him, leading to his trial in Geneva, although before being convicted he died during the trial, which lasted years.
*
President Obama could have seized a 'Clinton moment,' as it was then president Bill Clinton, to his credit who ordered American forces to attack Milosevic.
*
I should have caught on when after 9 days of protests and genocide president Obama finally gave a statement, a 5 minute diatribe denouncing violence in Libya, while not mentioning Gaddafi one single time. In dire contrast, when president Obama gave his nationally televised statement about the crisis in Egypt he mentioned Egyptian president Mubarak some 30 times.

One wonders what Obama's agenda is here.
*
He has a golden opportunity to seize the role of leader in demanding not just the removal of Gaddafi from power, but of calling for his incarceration in order to be tried for crimes against humanity, which include his ordering the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, which killed 270 passengers, including over 100 Americans.
*
By international law, the US has every right to catch Gaddafi and bring him to the US, or to Guantanamo for that matter, to stand trial for his atrocities.
*
I do want such trial here, not in Geneva, as Milosevic's trial there was a circus, which Milosevic used to promote his ideology.
*
It was always known that Libya was the culprit of the passenger jet bombing, and Gaddafi even agreed to compensate the families of the victims, but they could not indict Gaddafi for ordering the bombing, as they had no direct proof.
*
This week one of Gaddafi's ministers, among those that resigned and joined the opposition declared that yes, Gaddafi himself ordered the bombing of Pan Am flight 103.
*
And returning to our fearless leader, Obama.
*
When his press secretary, Jay Carney was asked by journalist why it took Obama nine days to issue a statement about Libya his response was that Obama had "scheduling conflicts," which did not allow time for him to speak on the crisis.
*
Scheduling conflicts? Not even 15 minutes over nine days?
*
A couple of those 'conflicts' where trips to Wisconsin and Ohio (Hmmm, how interesting, in the middle of huge anti-government protests by people that support him), trips considered glorified campaign stops, as those two states are critical if he is to win the next election.
*
Let's take a look at just one of such presidential scheduling conflicts.
*
A few days ago one of Obama's daughters, Sasha had a basketball game. The coach of her team called the president and asked him if he could coach the team, as he, the coach had a scheduling conflict of his own.
*
Guess what? Obama, ever the basketball junkie readily accepted to coach the team.
*
IN THE FRIGGING MIDDLE OF AN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS NO LESS!!!!!!!!

And you know the most ironic and outrageous part of this story? Sasha Obama's had a scheduling conflict of her own, as she did not attend the game.

At least we know our Commander-In-Chief knows how to do one thing well, coach basketball.

I doubt many of you have not been faced with a similar decision, or know someone who has.

A loved one, a child suffering from a life-ending disease, again a child victim of car accident possibly considered brain dead, a wife, husband, mother or father in the last throes of life, just being kept alive by machines.

To many of us, some in denial of the inevitable, others just not being able to bring ourselves to asking the medical staff to 'pull the plug' and let them die in peace, it is just heart-wrenching to let go.
*
This decision has always, always been one only the family can make.
*
The doctors of course are consulted as to the possibilities of eventual survival, whether incapacitated for life or not, and doctors will give you their honest opinion as to whether the patient is just being kept alive artificially, or if he or she survives she or he will need very special and expensive care thereafter, as they could not only become perhaps a quadriplegic, but lack much brain function whatsoever.

But again, this is a decision the family makes, not the doctor, not the state, not a judge.

If you as a parent, or child of such person do not believe in allowing the loved one to pass on, you decide to bring the loved one home and take care of them as long as they can live, and often convert that person's room into a hospital room, with sophisticated equipment which allows the patient to be kept alive.

I personally have been faced with such decisions twice in the last three years.

My mother suffered from a terminal disease and while I, with input from my family decided not to keep her alive artificially I did however insist she still be fed and hydrated through tubes.

We thought that in such advanced state of her disease she had not much life left, but somehow managed to hold on for a couple of years more.
*
An aunt suffered a massive stroke, and in this case we listened to her doctors, who told us that her brain was just gone. So we did decide to just let her go. They took away all equipment which kept her alive artificially and within hours passed away.
*
But my point is that this is a decision only loved ones can make, with input from the medical staff.
*
The doctors alone cannot make such decision. A Medicare or Obamacare bureaucrat in Washington cannot make such decision. A hospital cannot go before a judge asking him to make such decision.
*
Yes, it is true that by opting to hang on loved ones are just delaying the inevitable, while spending thousands, often hundreds of thousands of dollars keeping that person alive, even if only for a week, another month, or maybe six months.
*
Actually, many do surprise doctors and loved ones by hanging on, even in their advanced state for even years. But those are the exceptions.
*
At this point perhaps you expect me to say that some miraculously get better. No. One or two historical 'miraculous' recoveries do not support this thought.

Yes, I mentioned 'Obamacare,' as this is mostly about the new national healthcare law.
*
As you may read from the news story I printed below, there is a case in Canada where a baby is suffering from a terminal heart condition. Doctors believe that the baby has no chance of survival, much less recovery, and is only alive from artificial life support.
*
The doctors, supported by the hospital want to stop life support, as they see it pointless and most important, awfully expensive, an expense the Canadian healthcare system must pay for, as in Canada they have a form of socialized medicine, a form of 'Obamacare.'
*
But the baby's parents have refused to allow their baby to be 'unplugged' or allow him to die.
*
The doctors and the hospital did what is common in Canada, they went to the authorities asking them to authorize them to take away the baby's life support, which they did.
*
However, upon learning that the parents did what they thought was their right and elected to bring the baby to a US hospital and extend his life as long as possible.
*
Another twist to this story is that the Canadian hospital would not even allow the parents to take the baby home to die there rather than in the hospital.
*
They have said that if they bring him to the US most probably they would take the baby to their home, where he could pass away only in the presence of loved ones, not hospital employees in a hospital setting.
*
The Canadian hospital refused to allow the parents to bring the baby to the US and went before a Canadian judge asking for an order obligating the baby to remain in the Canadian hospital.
*
The judge sided with the hospital.
*
A very sad story indeed.
*
Yes, the baby will still die anyway. Yes, the cost of keeping him alive is enormous.
*
But no, nobody but the parents can decide whether to pull the plug on a dying baby or not.
*
But under the Canadian healthcare system it seems that the government has the authority to do just that.
*
In itself this is a big human interest story, even if it ended here.
*
But no, I elect to take it much further.
*
You have probably heard the US mainstream media and liberals bash former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for saying that under 'Obamacare' the government in essence will set up 'death panels' to decide whether a patient deserves expensive treatment in order to live, or to deny that same patient such treatment if they instead believe that such a large expense would only extend the inevitable for a short period of time, which in their view would be 'wasted money.'

'Death panels' is a pretty harsh name for these people assigned to make such decisions. But when you analyze it that is exactly what they are, a bunch of people getting together, analyzing a case and deciding whether to continue providing care or not.

I would imagine that the process would be for several bureaucrats, I suppose with basic medical knowledge, once a day sitting around a large table with a stack of files in front of them which they review one by one, reach a consensus, and stamp each with a 'YES' or a 'NO'.

What would you call such a 'panel'?

This, folks is just one of the many reasons why I and millions of Americans oppose 'Obamacare.' The decision whether to exhaust all means to extend the life of a person suffering from a terminal disease can only be made by the family, not a doctor, not a hospital and much less a bureaucrat sitting behind a desk in Washington, D.C.

I have known many men and women who I knew would soon die, and whose family also knew they would soon die. Men and women with terminal cancer, buying an extra month or two of life through expensive medical treatments and drugs.

Yes, they died anyway. But you cannot take away the rights of the family to be able to be by the bedside of the loved one even if for one extra week. To take that right away is not just unethical, but morally wrong.

Only God can play God. Only He can decide when to let go or not.

Yes, the family will decide, but that decision, provided they are religious will surely have been made shaped by their religious beliefs.

And even if they were not religious, even an atheist feels love for a child, for a parent, or for a husband or wife, and it would be the most difficult decision of his or her life whether to let go or not.

But it is their decision to make, not the government's.

The parents of a Canadian boy ordered off life support by government health officials have been denied a request to transfer the 13-month-old to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, Canada, was advised Thursday by the Michigan hospital that the boy would not be transferred.

Moe Maraachli and his wife, Sana Nader, of Windsor, Ontario, wanted the Michigan hospital to perform a tracheotomy on their son Joseph, who is currently kept alive by a respirator. The boy suffers from a rare, progressive neurological disease which, Canadian doctors say, has left him in a vegetative state beyond recovery.

A spokesman for Maraachli told FoxNews.com the family is "working on an appeal" to the Michigan hospital's decision. The hospital declined to comment on "any matters surrounding the case."

Joseph’s parents believed that if the Detroit hospital had accepted the child and conducted the operation, in which doctors would place a breathing tube in his windpipe, he could be cared for at home.

Canadian health care allocation officials already ruled that Joseph had to be taken off life support and allowed to die in the hospital. A Canadian judge then ruled that Maraachli had to give his consent to having the breathing tube removed by Monday. He refused.

Maraachli says turning off life support could cause his son to choke and suffocate. He told Fox News on Wednesday that the doctors at London Health Sciences Centre have said the “best treatment” is to “let him die… I don’t know what kind of treatment that [is].”

The family believes this procedure will allow Joseph to breathe on his own, and thereby be able to go home and likely die there.
*
Doctors are now asking the Canadian government to allow them to remove the breathing tube without the family’s consent. The Ontario hospital contends that a tracheotomy would be painful for the boy, despite their argument that Joseph is in a vegetative state.

Officials at the Ontario hospital appeared to be cooperating with the transfer request and sent Joseph’s full medical record to Children’s Hospital of Michigan on Monday.

“Our focus at this time is supporting the family by providing compassionate and dignified care, and comfort to both the patient and his parents,” the hospital said on its website.

I have laughed with sadness over the last few years as Muslim terrorists have been apprehended in Europe, accused of terrorist plots, while US pundits, the media, commentators, even conservative commentators opine that it is a European problem, as no such thing could happen in this nation, as American Muslims, even those born in Muslim countries are assimilated into the American culture and consider themselves American first and Muslim second.

These so-called 'experts' again say that it is a European problem, 'as these Muslim immigrants are marginalized from societty, not intergrated into their culture and thus live outside of the mainstream society', something they say does not happen in America.

Well, I have news for these so-called experts and dare I say naive and out of touch, in denial commentators.

The US have a rather large assimilated Muslim community.
*
There are some 4 million Middle Eastern Muslims in the US, most of whom indeed are Americanized, though they keep their Muslim traditions. Nothing wrong with that, as while I strongly consider myself strongly American, I still observe the traditions of my forefathers.

However, you take even just 1% from those 4 million Muslims, a whopping 40,000 people and can pretty much assume they lean more towards the lands of their birth, or lands of their parents and do not feel as American as the others. And 40,000 Muslim fanatic, America-hating individuals is an awful lot of bad people.

Even take one tenth of 1%, 4,000 Muslims and that still makes a formidable force to reckon with, 4,000 terrorists roaming around the US.

Why would you not believe that one tenth of one percent of US Muslims could be radical? Do you believe it possible that one tenth of one percent of Americans could be extremists of one sort or another, both left wing and right wing? So 4,000 out of 4 million actually is a very small percentage. But I pick that number just to make the point about the threat we face.

Add to those the foreign Muslim terrorists that cross our borders just about on a daily basis, as has been learned (they pay Mexican drug dealers to sneak them into the US), and we have a very serious problem in our hands.

These Muslim terrorists crossing into the US did not come here looking for a better life, as illegal immigrants for the most part do. These Muslim terrorists come here for one purpose, and one purpose only, to find ways, or to follow an already planned mission, to create havoc in this country.

Since 9/11/2001 law enforcement officials, officially, not mentioning those they do not disclose for security reasons, have apprehended dozens of terrorists while in the process of planning terrorist attacks in this country.

But these are mostly what they call 'lone wolves,' Muslims inspired by the Jihadists worldwide, mostly following 'recipes for terror,' which they find in Muslim extremist web sites.

The vast majority of the terrorists now living in the US are part of what are called 'sleeper cells,' groups of terrorists that are laying low, operating under the proverbial radar and waiting for the right moment, or orders from overseas to strike predetermined targets.

It would not be farfetched to believe that were there a Middle-Eastern war, which now seems a huge possibility, giving the events of the last month, these terrorists would receive the order to spread all over this nation and set off their assigned attacks all over the place. Their missions could be as 'soft' as setting off bombs in shopping centers, or as lethal as setting off 'dirty bombs,' easily constructed small radioactive bombs, which they can set off in major cities and kill and/or infect with radiation thousands of civilians, men, women and children.

This is a real problem in this country. As real as it is anywhere else in the world. Except that when they do decide to strike here the terror they will spread will be much worse than the rather small operations undertaken in Europe and other places.

Why? Because the US is 'The Great Satan,' the object of most of their hate, other than Israel.

Yes, the US is different from Europe in that indeed immigrants that move here do assimilate our culture and with eagerness, as they truly fall in love with America and are ever so grateful for being allowed to emigrate here.

But it was a matter of time before the Muslim Jihadists made inroads in this nation and both find Muslim-Americans they could recruit, while also sneaking trained terrorists through our porous borders.

Have we been lucky so far in catching some of these bad guys before they strike, as they just did in Texas?

The FBI has arrested a 20-year-old Saudi student in Texas suspected of planning a terrorist attack using explosive chemicals. The FBI says his possible targets included the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush.

Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari, attending college near Lubbock, Texas, was charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. Federal prosecutors say he had been researching online how to construct an improvised explosive device using several chemicals as ingredients.

Federal authorities say Aldawsari's diary indicated the young man had been plotting an attack for years and obtained a scholarship so he could come directly to the United State to carry out jihad.

Aldawsari is expected to appear in federal court in Lubbock on Friday morning.

President Obama just said, after being silent for 9 days, alllowing thousands to be murdered by mercenaries hired by Omar Gaddafi that he has instructed his administration to consider all options against Libya, including military.

Now there are reports that Gaddafi will destroy his oil fields if feels defeated, which experts predict would drive oil to over $200 a barrel, spiraling the world economy into total disaster.

In the background Iran and leftist groups are organizing protesters.

In the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests administered by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009—the latest year available—only 31 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a “proficient” rating while another 8 percent earned an “advanced” rating.
* The other 61 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below “proficient,” including 40 percent who earned a rating of “basic” and 21 percent who earned a rating of “below basic.”

The test also showed that the mathematics test scores of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders have remained almost flat since 1996 while inflation adjusted per-pupil spending has significantly increased.
*
In 1996, according to the U.S. Department of Education, Wisconsin public-school eighth graders scored an average of 283 out of 500 on the National Assessment of Educational Progress mathematics test. In 2009, they scored an average of 288 out of 500. In other words, the average mathematics test score for Wisconsin eighth graders increased by 5 points out of 500—or one percentage point—from 1996 to 2009.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s per pupil spending on public school students increased from $6,517 in 1996 to $10,791 in 2008. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation calculator the $6,517 that Wisconsin spent per pupil in 1996 dollars equaled $8,942 in 2008 dollars. That means that from 1996 to 2008, Wisconsin public schools increased their per pupil spending by $1,849—or 20.7 percent--in real terms while adding only one percentage point to their average eighth grader’s math score.

The $10,791 that Wisconsin spent per pupil in its public elementary and secondary schools in fiscal year 2008 was more than any other state in the Midwest.

Nationwide, according to the U.S. Department of Education, public schools are not doing a good job teaching children to be proficient in math. Forget what the law is about. You can be on either side of the fence.

I am talking about the Defense of Marriage Act, a law passed by congress during the Clinton administration and signed by Clinton into law.

The law specifies that in the U.S. a marriage to be legal has to be between a man and a woman.

Again, it makes no difference whether you agree with it or not. It is law.

I see its point, but also happen to have gay friends that have lived together all their lives and live a very low key, private live. Only the flamboyant, in your face gays give them the bad reputation as a bunch of perverts. About 5% of America is gay, 3% are openly gay, and 2% dress and act like you and me and could pass for regular heterosexual men and women.

But that is besides the point. The law of the land states that gay people cannot marry. Period. It is the law, and our authorities are sworn to uphold it, until congress or the Supreme Court decides otherwise.

Today, under orders from the White House, Attorney General Eric Holder, the No. 1 law enforcement official in the nation announced that since he considers the law unconstitutional he will no longer enforce it.

One man overriding the will of congress, the will of the people, the law of the land, violating our constitution.

Does that mean that this administration can pick and choose which laws it will obey and throw away those they do not agree with?

What ever became of the oath of office, where they pledged to uphold the constitution?

Gentlemen, this is not about the merits of the law. It is about the principle that our constitution governs this land. This is about our federal government, dictated by our president openly dismissing a law.

These are the same teachers that abandoned their job and shut down the school system in order to protest in the state capitol, rather than doing their best to teach kids the basics in education.

These are the teachers that due to tenure and protection from unions cannot be fired for incompetence, as the process may even take years.

State legislatures all over the country are frustrated because they cannot install a merit system in their school systems, rewarding good teachers, while getting rid of bad ones.

In places like New York there are thousands of teachers that have been sitting at home even for years, collecting their salaries and benefits while the process of dismissing them is tangled up in the system.

It is quite telling that states spend close to $10,000 a year per public school student, money which we tax payers pay, while most of these students fail learning the basics, including reading, while private schools, where teachers are held accountable and are replaced if not competent only spend on the average around $5,000 per student, yet most go on to college.

I have a daughter who is a teacher at a private school and continually studies to become better, as she knows that her performance will be measured by how well her students do in school.

The test also showed that the reading abilities of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders had not improved at all between 1998 and 2009 despite a significant inflation-adjusted increase in the amount of money Wisconsin public schools spent per pupil each year.

In 1998, according to the U.S. Department of Education, Wisconsin public school eighth graders scored an average of 266 out of 500 on the NAEP reading test. In 2009, Wisconsin public school eighth graders once again scored an average of 266 out of 500 on the NAEP reading test. Neighboring Illinois spent $10,353 per student in 2008, Minnesota spent $10,048 per student; Iowa spent $9,520 per student. Among Midwest states, Nebraska was second to Wisconsin in per pupil spending in its public schools, spending $10,565 per student.

Of these nearby states, only Minnesota did slightly better teaching reading to its public school students. In 2009, 39 percent of eighth graders in Minnesota public schools earned a rating of “proficient” or better in reading, and the average eighth grade reading score in the state was 270 out of 500.

In Illinois, only 32 percent of eighth graders earned a rating of “proficient” or better in reading, and the average eighth grade reading score was 265 out of 500. In Iowa, only 32 percent of eighth graders earned a rating of “proficient” or better in reading, and the average reading score was 265 out of 500. In Nebraska, only 35 percent of eighth graders earned a rating of “proficient” or better in their public schools, and the average reading score was 267 out of 500.

Ahora se comenta mucho que la madre del disi Zapata declaro sobre la represion que recibe su familia. Cada vez que sucede algo similar la comunidad en el extranjero se alborota. Y por supuesto que con razon. Que comentan alla?

Te juro que solo me entere escuchando la radio de tu barrio, pues aqui de lo unico que se habla oficialmente es de lo valientes que son los sindicatos en tu barrio 'enfrentandose a la represion rubia'.

O sea que lo que aqui suceda si te enteras es de lengua en lengua o escuchando tu radio, pero como comprenderas oficialmente aqui por nada en la vida lo mencionarian.
*
Mira, que es lo que espera la gente en tu barrio, que el viejo permita bulla en la calle? Tras 50 anos esperan que el cambie? A estas alturas se sorprenden y alzan la voz? Porque eso es todo lo que hacen, armar alboroto pero despues de tomarse su cafe se van para sus lindas casas y no se tienen que preocupar de donde viene la comida el dia siguiente.

Que facil les es hablar de aqui con horror y hablando que si deben de hacer esto o lo otro, pues escucho la gente que llama a tu radio y tanta basura hablan. Porque se fueron de aqui? Porque no se quedaron y demuestran lo bravos que son?

Yo tengo 55 anos y tengo mi trabajo. Mi marido tiene 65 y tiene su trabajo. Mi hija de 27 tiene su trabajo. Si manana salgo a la calle a protestar al dia siguiente los tres nos quedamos en la calle sin trabajo. Que gane entonces con protestar? Me gane la desgracia para mi familia el resto de nuestras vidas.

Lo siento, yo tengo que velar por mi familia, que es lo primero, antes de patria y todo lo demas. Solo Dios es mas grande.

Que facil es protestar en tu barrio sabiendo que no les van a entrar a golpes, ni repudiarlos ni meterlos en el calabozo. Si, se que no les pasa nada, pues lo sabemos muy bien por la gente que viene, por tu radio y porque si sabemos que en tu barrio hay libertad.

Pero esos que tan valientes se creen escribiendo y hablando sobre este sistema porque no dejan sus comodas casas y vienen aqui y se unen a los disis? Si tienen suerte al dia siguiente los sientan en un avion de regreso pero lo mas posible es que les entren a palos y desaparezcan.

Asi que no me digan mas de como es que nosotros no movemos un dedo. Al menos me he quedado aqui y no grito desde alla, donde nadie me puede tocar.

Por supuesto que simpatizo con las damas de vestido claro y los que me has mencionado y comprendo y apoyo la causa. Pero antes te lo he dicho. Mi familia esta primero y yo la tengo que proteger. Y no soy yo sola, sino casi todos piensan igual que yo. Sabemos que no vamos a resolver nada mas que desgraciar nuestras vidas, pues aqui no gana nadie. Que puedo hacer yo contra un fusil?

No, no era de esos 'arranca cabezas' que aun existen, pues desde have anos creo en la reconciliacion, no en venganza contra pobre gente que han nacido dentro del sistema. Pero si creia que las imagenes que nos mostraban y los cuentos que nos hacian, escritos, etc. era todo real, queriendo decir que creia que esas eran las condiciones en toda la isla, no solo en los solares.* Tu me has mostrado otra tierra, otro angulo que no conocia ni nunca hubiese creido. Tus fotos, las de LL, los relatos de como ella se divierte con sus amistades y novio. Las fotos lindas de casa donde tu sonries tanto.* Me dicen los incredulos que Uds. viven bien pues son aliados del viejo. * Tienes que comprender tambien de que sinceramente no conozco a nadie que me describa a tu tierra como me la pintas tu. Todo el mundo, y te digo todo el mundo que ha ido alla, que tiene contactos alla, que constantemente investiga como estan alla, que reciben noticias de los que estan en contra, damas de color claro, disis, etc. todos dicen lo mismo, que tu tierra es otro Haiti, y peor debido a tanta represion.* Las imagenes de la chusmeria en la calle, los chancleteros en shorts y camiseta, las fotos de ellos en casas y edificios que parecen se van a caer en cualquier momento, las calles completamente vacia y un cacharro parqueado aqui y alla, muchos de ellos que ni se pueden mover.* Por otro lado aqui se escribe y relata mucho sobre la situacion economica tan horrible, que hasta el gobierno de los rubios dicen que no pueden aguantar mas, que en cualquier momento se acaba eso.* Por otro lado se escribe y relata mucho sobre la situacion politica y la pintan como si fuera el Gulago de la Siberia.* Y se escribe mucho de como en los hoteles y restaurantes turisticos no permiten trabajar a los prietos, solo blancos. De nada serviria tratar de convencer a alguien que se cree toda la historia que le cuentan.

Y tienes razon, ya no son los de have 50 anos, son los de ahora.

Los 'disi', las damas claritas (que me las he encontrado en la calle en sus caminatas alguna vez, y las admiro, pero de ahi no paso),

La muchacha de las muchas de tantas que se venden si existen, pero en ciertos barrios, no por el mio.

Y, ademas oigo frecuentemente esa emisora de radio prohibida y se lo que dicen y a veces exageran, generalmente, aunque en el fondo tienen parte de la verdad, quizas una buena parte.

Si, los hospitales son cucaracheros, pero con el tiempo nos la arreglamos encontrando algunos medicos decentes, honestos que sinceramente hacen lo mejor posible por ayudarnos. G.A.D. no he caido en un hospital, pues me podriria, pero los consultorios no son tan malo y ciertas medicinas basicas existen.

Pero mi mundo no es ese, mi universo es mi familia, mi casa, mi trabajo y mis problemas.

No tengo tiempo para dedicar a otras cosas, mucho menos politica, pues para mi la familia y sobrevivir es lo principal.

No le dedico ni un minuto a ocupar mi mente con asuntos de politica, no me interesan, ni de un bando ni de otro, pues de que sirve?

Y si, me molestan muchas cosas que aqui suceden porque me tocan y me afectan de alguna marena, pero eso es inevitable y tras haberme criado y vivido 50 anos bajo este sistema pues no me ha quedado mas remedio que adaptarme.

No soy tan brava como para salir a la calle a protestar, y mucho menos me agarrarias en un bote. No, aqui me quedo con mi familia y con el techo que se no me van a quitar.

Y lo de la cantidad de gente que solicitan trabajar por cuenta propia, si, son miles, y tienen que adquirir la materia prima en las tiendas normales, a precio alto, esto frena el negocio, pero perjudica tambien al nativo de a pie, a mi, porque antes en bolsa negra se compraba por ejemplo el azucar a 3 pesos MN la libra, ahora el estado te la vende a 8.

Cuesta creer que en este pais, que vivia del azucar exista escaces.

Si, porque el azucar todavia esta por la libreta y lo que cuesta son centavos, pero la libreta de alimentos tiende a desaparecer (esta libretica es aberrante), y el precio a todos estos articulos que actualmente son subsidiados por el estado los van a liberar, pero mira a que precios,

Tu crees que todo el mundo podra adquirirlos?, no,

Y los cuentapropistas, los que les han permitido tener sus negocitos tendran que morir comprandolo a esos precios o metiendose en negocios ilegales,

Tengo un magnifico companero, una hija increible, una casa y un trabajo que no me resuelve vida porque lo que gano no da para mucho.

JR, mi marido tambien tiene su salario que ocurre lo mismo que con el mio y Leyda mi hija al fin despues de mucho tiempo tratando de mejorar, esperando el toque de la "varita magica", se le ha dado la oportunidad en la seccion de intereses de los de tu barrio, y esto es lo que ha hecho que nuestra situacion haya mejorado, pues todos compartimos nuestros sueldos, hasta el novio de Leyda, quien practicamente vive aqui.

Y Leyda tiene gran carrera y ha aprendido varios idiomas, esperando un dia en que puede mudarse al exterior, tal como hizo mi hijastra Soly, a quien la enviaros al Brasil por sus conocimientos de computacion y portugues.

Pero JR y yo, tenemos muchos anos de trabajo, yo 30 y JR como 40 y nunca hemos logrado un salario decoroso como para cubrir todas nuestras necesidades y ademas darnos algun gustico de vez en cuando.

NUNCA, no tenemos nada de nosotros, adquiridoi por nosotros.

Los poquitos lujos, si asi se consideran nos los han regalado, sobre todo por familiares que viven en el exterior.

Tengo casa gracias a mis padres, la misma que la familia ha tenido por generaciones, y al menos tengo un techo propio,

Obama ha invitado a lideres arabes, hindues y recientemente al presidente de China comunista, mientras ha ignorado a nuestros mas estrechos amigos y aliados.

No solo eso, sino que Obama hasta ha intencionalmente ofendido a entre otros a la Gran Bretana.

Tras el ataque de 09/11/2001 el gobierno britanico envio a la Casa Blanca un busto del gran estadista Winston Churchill. Acabado de tomar el poder, Barack Obama procedio a devolverle a Inglaterra tal busto, efecto similar a una cachetada.

Es curioso que Obama invito al presidente chino, dictador del pais que posiblemente viola los derechos humanos mas que cualquier otro, y quienes se han empenado en una carrera militar para alcanzar ser mas potente que Estados Unidos, al extremo que han robado secretos militares americanos, tales como el ultimo avion caza-bombardero que han creado, copia exacta del F-22, el avion mas sofisticado de la fuerza aerea americana.

Es tambien curioso que el recipiente del Premio Nobel de la Paz del 2009, Obama, haya invitado al lider del pais que mantiene preso al recipiente del Premio Nobel de la Paz en el 2010, el notable disidente Liu Xiaobo.

Pero eso no es todo. Aqui les relato algo sumamente curioso, pero consistente con el comportamiento y politica del presidente americano.

En uno de los episodios más vergonzosos y humillantes en la historia de nuestra nación, el famoso pianista chino Lang Lang interpretó una melodía antiamericana durante el banquete ofrecido al dictador chino Hu Jintao en la Casa Blanca el pasado 19 de enero de este ano.

La canción llamada “Mi patria” proviene de una película propagandista comunista de la China de 1956 llamada “Batalla en la Montaña Shangganling” que ocurrió en la guerra de Corea.

Durante la guerra de Corea (1950-1953) más de un millón de soldados chinos mataron e hirieron a cientos de miles de soldados estadounidenses. Miles de prisioneros estadounidenses capturados durante la guerra de Corea fueron torturados y a muchos les lavaron el cerebro, miles de ellos dados por perdidos y otros, 58 anos despues aun siendo detenidos en Corea del Norte.

La canción que Lang Lang interpretó en la Casa Blanca tiene una letra que llama a los soldados estadounidenses “’chacales’ que serán saludados con los rifles”.

Todos los chinos conocen esta película y canción como antiamericana, las cuales fueron hechas durante la época de Mao Tse Tung.

Muchos disidentes y desertores chinos en los Estados Unidos han interpretado esta ofensa como algo planeado deliberadamente por el Partido Comunista de China y Lang Lang.

Zhang Kaichen, antiguo director de propaganda del Partido Comunista de la ciudad de Shenyang, asegura que “debió haber sido planeado e instigado por el régimen de China”.

Lang Lang es uno de los pianistas favoritos del gobierno totalitario chino y ha tocado frecuentemente ante los líderes de ese gobierno. Qué habrá pensado el dictador chino? Primeramente, pensó que logró burlarse del presidente y de nuestra nación. Segundo, que tiene enfrente a un ignorante y débil presidente que aplaude en su presencia una canción antiamericana.
Es tan bochornoso como cuando Obama tomo la mano del principe de la Arabia Saudita, bajo su cabeza y le mostro deferencia tal como hacen sus subditos.

Obama no ha confrontado al presidente chino Hu Jintao respecto al robo de patentes de los Estados Unidos y países occidentales que nos cuestan billones de dólares al ano. Obama no ha hecho nada con respecto al abuso de mantener la moneda china artificialmente baja para excluir nuestros productos del mercado de China mientras nosotros compramos todo lo que vende China y nos endeudamos con esta nación más y más.

Obama no ha protestado enérgicamente por las violaciones masivas de derechos humanos en China ni por los ataques cibernéticos de los hackeros del gobierno chino a nuestro gobierno y a nuestras empresas multinacionales.

Tampoco Obama ha protestado enérgicamente por el apoyo de China a Corea del Norte que ataca a nuestro aliado, Corea del Sur, constantemente y construye más bombas atómicas y mejora sus cohetes de largo alcance. ¿Qué respuesta dio la Casa Blanca a este insulto y burla deliberada de Lang Lang y del gobierno chino?

El vocero de la Casa Blanca, Tommy Vietor, declaró que “Lang Lang tocó la melodía sin las letras de la canción o referencia política alguna. Cualquier sugerencia que fue un insulto a los Estados Unidos está totalmente equivocado”.

Despues dijo que a Obama no le molesto, "pues tiene una bonita melodia."

Cómo es posible justificar tal burla e insulto a nuestra nación?

Por suerte los líderes republicanos del Congreso rehusaron asistir al banquete honrando al dictador de China. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, representante nacida en Cuba, exiliada del gobierno comunista de Fidel Castro, salvó el honor de nuestra nación entregándole una carta de protesta al dictador chino por todas las violaciones de derechos humanos en China.

But it is quite true, it encompasses the quest for the absolute truth.

It speaks towards our responsibility to be informed, educated about the world, history, life and only comment if you are indeed well informed to the point you can unequivocally speak with facts and the truth at your side.

Curious that I will now quote a foundersof the Islamic faith to support my argument that a little knowledge, or semi-ignorance is quite dangerous, reckless and potentially evil.

Ali Ben Abu-Talib, Prophet Mohammad's cousin, said:

Men, and women for that matter are of four types;
*
1. A man who knows and knows that he knows ....Follow him, for he is wise.
*
2. A man who knows but does not know that he knows .... Awaken him, as he is valuable.
*
3. A man who does not know and he knows that he does not know ... Teach him so he can learn the truth.
*
4. A man who does not know but does not know that he does not know ... Straighten him up and quickly!

I thought about that advice while reviewing the events of the past 3 weeks.

If The people who know followed Ali's advice, these events could have been made less painful if not entirely avoided.

*
Similarly, if the people who realize their own lack of knowledge were able to educate themselves we would have been in much better shape

*.
Unfortunately, they had very hard time doing that due to the fact that the knowledge they seek to make informed decisions are being suppressed, intentionally or not, by the manipulated media and propagandist dark elements available to them.

The most damage, however, is done by those belonging to the last category in Ali's advice i.e. those who do not know but they do not know it.

*
On the contrary, they think they KNOW what they are talking about while the fact of the matter is that all they know is what they see on the surface of the crust of the issues they are talking about in length over extended period of times all over the media outlets and soap boxes available to them. They love to hear themselves speak.

*
Those with knowledge that does not even scratch the surface of the issue and talk and promote their opinions as if they know it all are the most destructive type.

*
They reject or adopt policies and ideas based on incomplete or trivial knowledge of the issue at hand. But since they think they "know" all there is to know about the issue, they are very confident in their nonsense which they cover with lovely sound-bites that attracts the ears and eyes of those who belong to the third category of people in Ali's advice, i.e. those who do not know and are seeking knowledge.

And therein lies the danger of those semi-ignorant talking heads. They spread their little-incomplete knowledge among the naive masses who follow them believing that they are following a knowledgeable person while in fact they are following an impostor who is skilled in sounding knowledgeable.

In many cases, the people belonging to the first category, i.e. those who know their issues inside out and are aware of it, do not speak loud enough nor are they active enough to speak the truth about what they know.

*
And since most people belong to the other three categories they resent these people and go out of their way to suppress them, ridiculing them and shouting them down so nobody will hear the truth.

*
That, in turn, leaves the field wide open to the semi-ignorant talking heads to spread their false information and sometimes misguided, other times warped opinions.
Consider, for example, the following:

- People talking about the Constitutionality of certain ideas while they don't know what the Constitution say about the issue in question.

*
- People denying the validity of "Global Warming" based on scant scientific knowledge of the environment and the ecology of the Planet or what affects them or how human activities impact them.

*
- People planning terrorist activities believing that they are fighting for their belief while they have no idea what that belief is or what it says about their activities.

*
- People talking about economic growth, taxes, budgets, monetary policy and unemployment while they don't even know how those factors interact together.

*
- People who have little Scientific Education talking about Science and how it supports their denial of the existence of a Creator for our Universe while in fact Science says the exact opposite. They read an article in a magazine or on the Internet and they believe that they have "Got It". With that "IT", they convince themselves and their naive audience that they really "know" what they are talking about. !!!!

This is just a sample but the list could go on much longer.

Unless those who know force themselves to speak up in a loud and clear voice ... nothing will dislodge the semi-ignorant clowns from their strong-hold on the brains of the naive masses.

This has been written aimed directly at those of you that are convinced you have a handle on the current events taking place, playing the parts of 'useful idiots', being manipulated by the evil doers lurking in the shadows, pulling your strings while waiting for the moment to pounce upon you and the rest of us so they can rule with impunity to the point where it will no longer make a difference whether you know or do not know a damned thing, as those that played you all along will not even let you think anymore, much less learn the truth.

Pero como ellos creen que SABEN completamente sobre el tema, estan seguros de si mismos y colorean sus palabrerias de manera que atraen los ojos y oidos de los ingenuos que les escuchan, aquellos que pertenecen a la tercera categoria, aquellos que no saben y estan ambrientos por conocimiento.

Y ahi yace el peligro de esos semi-ignorantes parlanchines. Riegan sus incompletos conocimientos entre las ingenuas masas quienes los siguen creyendo que siguen un personaje lleno de sabiduria y conocimientos, el cual en realidad no es mas que un impostor, solo que es diestro en parecer sabio.

A defacto overthrow of the regime in Egypt is taking place. The world, as told by the main stream press believes it is a peaceful, democracy-seeking grass roots movement. They could not be more wrong.

Once the Hosni Mubarak regime in Egypt falls, there will be a huge political vaccum in that nation, the most critical of Arab nations, key in maintaining stability in the region.

There are no organized secular and democratic political parties that can emerge as leaders, as they have been persecuted over the last 32 years Mubarak has been in power.

However, in the background The Muslim Brotherhood, the umbrella Islamic extremist organization, under which Hamas, Hezbollah and even Al Qaeda operate is ready to pounce on power in Egypt.

This is the most powerful and most fundamentalist of all Islamic organizations with terrorist ties.

When then Egyptian president Amwar Sadat was murdered 32 years ago it was by a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, because he had agreed to peace with Israel.

The published goals of The Muslim Brotherhood are quite simple, though the following document lists them in full detail:

Establish a Muslim Caliphate (a world-wide Islamic kingdom) all over the Arab world and eventually all over the world.

In such world Sharia law would be the law of the land.

The first order of business of The Muslim Brotherhood is to attack Israel and 'wipe it off the face of the earth,' something they would be in position to do once in power in Egypt, as Egypt has the Arab world's strongest military, (after Iran's), but while Iran does not yet have them, Egypt does have nuclear weapons.

An attack on Israel would ignite a nuclear war that would spread all over the world.

Hence my predictions of impending Apocalypse in the region, which would extend all over this world.

During the Cold War of 1945-1991 between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies, many militant American communists and some of their socialist allies were embarrassed, though not necessarily shamed, about having supported revolutions which ended up killing over 120 million human beings in places such as Angola, Cambodia, China, Ethiopia, Cuba, Russia, Somalia, and elsewhere.

These people came out with a brilliant yet dishonest solution to their discomfort. They argued that the repressive systems established in all these countries did not represent the ideal communism which they preached, but was only a hijacked version of it. As a result, they were not responsible for the violence of those in power. This delusion was promoted even though the leaders of all these countries called themselves communist and implemented many of the ideas of Lenin, the father of contemporary communism.

Interestingly, the same type of rationalization is now being used by many Muslims in America and by their allies. They know that most of the people killing Americans call themselves Muslims (although most Muslims are peaceful), and that they use verses from the Hadith and the Koran to justify killing infidels and dissenting Muslims. They also understand that there is no religious freedom in countries where the population and the government are Islamic.

Their solution to these negative facts is also brilliant and deceptive. They argue that these violent Muslims, their interpretations of the Hadith and the Koran, and the political systems that do not permit religious freedom are really not Islamic. For them, the real Islam has been hi-jacked because their religion is one of peace.

Communists try to make everyone subservient to the Communist party because that is what they are supposed to do in following their ideology. The Myth

Why then do so many of our scholars believe that there was a “golden age” in Muslim-controlled medieval Spain where religious freedom was permitted and great tolerance existed among Christians, Jews, and Muslims? If this “paradise” does not exist today where Muslims dominate, what could make one think that it existed in medieval Spain which was a world where many of our contemporary freedoms did not exist and could not even be conceived?

When Muslims invaded the Iberian Peninsula in 711, they spread through the territory which includes Portugal and Spain. They would not be entirely defeated until 1492. During this time there was never a period and a place controlled by Muslims which allowed freedom of religion and a multicultural paradise. Christians, Jews, and Muslims lived in great conflict with each other.

The Creators of the Myth

Ironically, it was not Muslims who created the myth. It came from Europeans for the most part. Many people are responsible for promoting this Mythical Golden Age:

· the Black Legend critical of Roman Catholicism and of Spain was created by English Protestants (and some Jews) fighting the Hapsburgs of Spain and Austria, who themselves were fighting the Muslims. They painted the Spanish in the worse possible light, but ignored the abuses of the Muslims.

· the European creators of the noble savage myth believed in the moral superiority of the non-Christian populations of the East and of the New World. They romanticized the wisdom and nobility of the East, which of course included the "tolerance" of the Turks, while criticizing urban, industrial and bourgeois life the West. It was the equivalent of modern, Western infatuation with New Age, Eastern religions.

· Jewish intellectuals attacked Catholics in the 1500's for forcing them out of Spain in 1492, and praised the Turks for receiving them in the Ottoman Empire. They forgot to mention that the Jews were wanted for their economic assets since the Turks had destroyed the Christian dhimmis (subject and submissive people), something which was later done to the Jews themselves. It was no accident that eventually most of the Jews by the early 1900’s found themselves living in Christian Europe, instead of in the House of Islam.

· Enlightenment philosophes praised Islam as a way of discrediting the Christendom which they despised. Support for Islam was a way of putting down Christianity just like it is in America and Europe in the 2000’s.

· British foreign-policy makers supported the Turks to prevent Russia from controlling the Straits of Bosporus and the Straits of Dardanelles leading to the Mediterranean. The British had to minimize the appearance of Muslim cruelty toward the dhimmi, just like in India they had to do the same to be able to obtain Islamic support to balance the power of the Hindus.

· Catholics/Latins supported the Turks to weaken the growth of the Orthodox Christians in the Balkans, such as in Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Armenia. Public recognition of the abuse of the dhimmis by the Turks could have accelerated the movement toward independence by these Orthodox people.

· Zionist Jews in Europe sought good relations with the Ottoman Turks who controlled Jerusalem. They painted the Turks in the best possible light to gain support for their settling in the area.

· Westerners sought to strengthen Turkey vis-a -vis Soviet Armenia after World War I. They wanted to contain communism.

· neo-Marxists find in Islam after the Cold War a good instrument to weaken the capitalist and liberal West. They both seek the defeat of the Judeo-Christian world-view.

· President Barak H. Obama, as did George W. Bush, and President Bill Clinton before him, portrays Islam as a religion of peace to promote American geopolitical interests in the Middle East and to maintain domestic peace in the United States. In addition, some elements within the Democratic and Republican parties are on the payroll of the Saudi-Arabians and other Islamic countries which are today most responsible for spreading Islam worldwide. These Americans have little interest in criticizing the myth.

All these political interests are responsible for creating the myth of a "Golden Age," or religious tolerance in the Medieval Islamic world, and in particular in Spain and Baghdad, and even in today's world. The typical warped methodology used by them consists in contrasting the failings of the Christian or Western world with the virtues of the Muslim civilization. Regardless, politics and ideology are the root causes of the myth of religious toleration under Islam. The myth was created by Non-Muslims but it has helped significantly the Islamic desire for world domination.

Rejecting the Myth

One of the most devastating critiques of the so-called religious tolerance and multiculturalism of Islamic Spain was written by Dario Fernandez-Morera in his article “The Myth of the Andalusian Paradise” which appeared in the Fall 2006 issue of The Intercollegiate Review. Among other things, he shows that the Muslim leaders most closely associated with the myth of religious tolerance were not at all open to the idea and to the practice of religious tolerance.

They include: Abd al-Rahman I, Abd al-Rahman II, Muhammad I and Abd al-Rahman III, who ruled from 734 to 961, the period which according to the myth was the most peaceful among Christians, Jews and Muslims. Another fine work about this period is Moorish Spain by Richard Fletcher.

In addition, many other arguments and evidence can be presented to destroy the myth:

· science and philosophy flourished in spite of Islam for Muslims persecuted philosophers, scholars, and scientists

· the greatest advances in learning occurred where Muslim leaders were less religious

· learning was limited, where it existed, to tiny circles of the princely courts

· the Muslims destroyed most of the Christian churches

· the garrison of Muez was massacred in 902 by Muslims

· the cathedrals of Cordova, Merida, Pamplona and Zaragoza were destroyed in 923, followed by the execution of the men and the enslavement of women and children, and many Catholic men were castrated

· the Almohads compelled the Jews and the Christians to convert or leave "Spain"

· 600 Jews were massacred by Muslims in the City of Fez in 1033, and 3000 were murdered in Grenada in 1066

· Christians were deported to Morocco by Muslim Almoravids in 1126

· Jews were expelled in 1148 if they did not convert to Islam.

In summary, it can be stated that it is not only some Muslims who try to distort the content of Islam and the record of its violent expansion to convince the public that it is a religion of peace which if it comes into power can bring about a wonderful era of tolerant multiculturalism and religious freedom. It is obvious that many non-Muslims countries and groups are also willing to distort the record of Islam and become their apologists to gain diplomatic, political, financial and cultural gains.
It is shocking that it is among the “intellectual class” that this myth of a golden age of religious freedom under a Muslim controlled medieval Spain is most established. This is what happens when intellectuals become advocates of a point of view favorable to Islam instead of critically evaluating the historical evidence. It also happens when people in the modern period try to project to a long past historical period the values of religious freedom, tolerance, and multiculturalism which are popular today and non-existent then.

Then your friend tries to separate both fighters with the intention of keeping you from being injured and find a peaceful solution to the fight, saying that violence does not solve anything.

So while holding on to your friend you tell the attacker to 'cool it' and try to reason with both that by fighting they would not accomplish anything, except harming each other.

But as you hold on to your friend, unwittingly blocking him from defending himself, the gang member takes advantage of your friend's vulnerability, and stabs him mortally.

As your friend dies in your arms he tells you, "Why didn't you let me defend myself?' ' Had you not held me back I could have beaten that guy and would have lived!' And then he dies, while the gang member leaves with his gang buddies laughing at you for being such a fool and having made it easy for him to kill his enemy, your friend.

Now substitute your friend with the nation of Israel, the attacker with the nation of Iran, and you, of course are The United States of America, now lead by President Barack Obama.

Since Israel became a sovereign state in 1948, the U.S. has been its main ally, and the only country on earth committed to coming to its aid were it to be attacked by its Islamic neighbors, who have sworn to not only defeat Israel, but to kill each and everyone of its men, women and children.

The U.S. did not interfere directly, though it did indirectly with intelligence data and the arming of Israel with the most modern weaponry, during the several wars Israel has fought against its Arab neighbors. The U.S. never interfered, though it was at the ready to do so, because it knew Israel could defeat its enemies on its own and it was important to send the message to the Arab world that Israel could very well defend itself without U.S. help.

But times have changed.

For the very first time since Israel has been a nation, the President of the United States does not openly support Israel and no longer tells its Arab neighbors that the U.S. 'has its back,' slang for 'we will come to their help if and when they need it.'

Instead, we have a president that supports many of Israel's neighbors, mainly Palestinians who openly call for the destruction of Israel and of taking its land to build its own nation, Palestine.

While they do not have an army that can match Israel's potent military, they instead have resorted to attacking them with mortars, missiles, and homicide, or rather 'suicide' bombers, men and women that sacrifice their lives by strapping bombs to their bodies and blowing themselves up in crowded areas in Israel, thereby killing dozens of innocent Israeli men, women and children.

These mortars, missiles and 'bomb jackets' are being provided to the Palestinians by Iran, as Palestinians do not have the capacity nor the money to acquire or build such weapons on their own.

And Iran, of course is the Muslim nation that has become the mightiest military power in the Islamic world, except for Pakistan, and is ever so close to building nuclear weapons of their own.

For years, Iran has called for the destruction of Israel and has promised to 'wipe Israel off the face of the earth' as soon as they have the means to do so, not mentioning them, but clearly referring to nuclear weapons delivered by the missiles they have developed already.

The dumb Palestinians do not realize that the same nuclear bombs that can 'wipe Israel off the face of the earth' will kill them all as well, as they live next door to Israel, a very small nation which can be destroyed by just one large or two smaller nuclear bombs.

Heck, a nuclear attack on Israel not only would destroy the Palestinians, but theoretically could also destroy Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, while its radioactive fallout could reach Syria and other nearby Muslim nations as well.

The analogy of the friend being attacked by a gang and his so-called best friend trying to separate them comes to mind as I view President Obama’s policy toward the mortal threat Israel faces as Iran’s nuclear ambitions proceed unhindered toward a bomb.

The leading ayatollah in Tehran has described Israel as “a one-bomb country.” About that, he is right. As I already wrote, one nuclear weapon is all that it would take to kill millions of Israelis. It would be a twenty-minute Holocaust.

President Obama has wasted his first year in office “reaching out” to the mullahs in Tehran, while apologizing to all Muslims in the world for past U.S. policy protecting Israel.

Even now, he absurdly and naively says that the Iranian clerics and the United States have a “mutual interest” in stopping the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Just whom does he think is now aiding the Taliban? Can he really be so naive, so stupid?

Obama, ignoring Palestinian terrorism and its ties to Iran has called for a peaceful solution of their conflict with Israel, with the goal of creating a Palestinian state next door to Israel.

At the same time, Obama has publicly chastised Israel for its 'heavy handed' reply to terrorist attacks. By 'heavy handed' he means the military responses from Israel every time Palestinians attack it.

If mortar fire and missiles rain on Israeli soil, and/or homicide bombers kill dozens of citizens, Israel either sends attack helicopters or tanks into Palestinian territory to destroy terrorist safe houses, and homes of known terrorists as well.

This is what Obama means by 'heavy handed.'

What is Israel to do, send homicide bombers of their own, while not using the weapons it already has to destroy its enemies?

For the past year, although they would never admit it, President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been pressing a “re-set” button on U.S. policy toward Israel.

No more a faithful and unconditional ally. In Obama's world Israel is on a par with its terrorist neighbors.

Secretary Clinton, at Obama’s urging, has demanded that Israel submit to UN oversight of its investigation into the violent boarding of the Turkish supply ship that tried to run the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

She means the boarding by Israeli troops of a ship arriving in Gaza, where Palestinians live, which was suspected of carrying weapons for the terrorists, weapons supplied by Iran via the Turkish vessel.

Hamas, the terrorist organization committed to the immediate destruction of Israel, runs Gaza. From Gaza, Hamas has launched thousands of missiles and mortars into Israel.

*
The world, including the UN bureaucrats, yawned as Israeli cities and farms came under this rocket attack. Tehran, it is widely known, is arming Hamas, just as it is supplying Hezbollah, the terrorist outfit that rules in Southern Lebanon.

The Israelis were determined not to allow the Turkish ship enter a Gaza port without being inspected. If even one of those cargo containers held weapons of mass destruction, anthrax, nerve gas such as that released in the Tokyo subway, or some other biological or chemical agent, the densely populated Jewish state would be in mortal jeopardy.

A year and a half into this administration, we see the utter failure of Obama foreign policy.

He left our Eastern European allies, Poland, Hungary, the Czechs, hanging in the wind, yanking away an anti-missile defense program that would have protected them not only from Iranian missiles but also from Russian pressure.

This was done, the very smart Washington types told us, so that Russia would join us in putting pressure on the Iranians. Russia did vote for watered-down economic sanctions against Iran. Then, promptly, signed an agreement with the Iranians to help them develop nuclear power plants. If you can build a nuclear power plant, you can build a nuclear bomb. Russia is playing a double game.

Precisely, this past week that nuclear reactor went into operation and Israel felt helpless.

They could no longer count on U.S. help, even intelligence, so they could launch an attack meant to destroy the nuclear facility before it went into operation, after which such attack would not be possible, as at this point if such a nuclear plant is destroyed, radioactivity would fill the skies and heaven knows where the wind would blow it towards.

It surprised me immensely that Israel did not launch such an attack, difficult as it may have been, given the size of Iran, its thousands of missile batteries and how well guarded its nuclear facilities are.

But Israel's position, and rightly so, has been that Iran is seriously committed to its destruction and the only way it can defend itself is to attack Iran preemptively.

So what happened, then? What held Israel back?

I assume we will never know. But I suspect that not having the support and help from the U.S. it had its hands tied.

As in the analogy, its friend was holding it back from defending itself.

A very sad state of affairs.

Israel is left to retaliate with its nuclear weapons once Iran attacks it with their own, thereby sealing its apocalyptic fate, even if they are able to land some heavy punches on Iran as they die as a nation.

But under his policies, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates have all announced plans to develop nuclear power plants.

It’s hard to imagine what Hillary Clinton must be thinking of all this. She left a safe seat in the U.S. Senate to join this administration. She has been taunted, on left wing blogs, of all places, for allowing Barack Obama to put her in a “foreign policy burka.”

When Hillary ran against Obama in 2008, her most effective campaign ad was one that showed a telephone ringing at 3 a.m. It was intended to warn Americans of the dangers of having an inexperienced president taking that crisis call in the middle of the night. Little did Hillary realize that she might be the one making that crisis call.

I think that now, almost 20 months after Barack Obama and his Democratic congressional 'super majority' assumed 'control' of this nation, and being only 90 days away from the mid-term elections, when all of the members of our House of Representatives, plus 36 senators, 18 from each party are up for reelection, or first time elections due to the retirement of some Washington politicians, we should look at the accomplishments, or lack thereof of our Democratic friends.\

Mostly about the performance of the 'anointed one,' President Barack H. Obama.

*
It is common assumption that enough Democratic congressmen will be defeated for the Republican Party to regain the majority in the House of Representatives come November, a huge blow not only for the Democrats, but mostly for President Obama, who will no longer be able to shove more bills and trillions of dollars in debt down our throats, as he has done these past two years, precisely because the Democrats controlled both houses of congress.

Where there will be a lot of anxiety on both sides will be in the senatorial elections, as while it is expected that a number of Democrats will be defeated, it is not assured that enough will be defeated for Republicans to also control the senate. Republicans must be able to defend their 18 seats up for reelection and also defeat at least 11 of the 18 Democrats in order to have a majority in the senate as well. And a super majority is out of the question, as if all Democratic senators were to be defeated Republicans would still be two senators short, 58, of the 60-senator complete, fillibuster-proof control of the senate.

That is an almost impossible task, but 90 days in Washington is an eternity, so many variables can change between now and then.

*
For one, if Obama's approval ratings keep dropping, and as of today he is at 41%, and the economy continues to get worse, including an increase in unemployment, as projected, many senatorial races could swing towards Republicans, as most of the country is fed up with the president and the Democratic party as well.

*
Yes, folks are angry at all incumbents, including Republicans, as they are tired of the incompetence of our representatives in congress. The present approval rating of congress as a whole by the American people is somewhere in the area of 10%!!

*
But since the Democratic party has been in full control the last 20 months, the wrath of the American voter will be mostly directed at them.

*
So never say never.

*
With a majority in the House of Representatives, but not in the senate, Republicans will be able to block any new bills and spending by Obama and the Democrats, which is huge, though a lot of damage has already been done, reason why we are over ten trillion dollars in debt.

*
But if Republicans also control the senate, then they can try to change and/or reverse a lot of that damage, beginning with Obamacare, which the president and the Democrats rammed through congress despite opposition by 58% of the American public.

*
However, lacking the 60 member 'super majority,' the Democrats can stall any Republican initiative by filibustering until they fall dead from exhaustion and mute from extreme usage of their vocal chords.

So most likely there will be a standoff. But at least President Obama and his Democratic bunch will not be able to pass any new laws or spend one single additional cent.

So let's review the 'chosen' one's performance over the last 20 months.

First of all, he has outsourced most of his work to congress, as he has been too busy spending millions of our dollars traveling all over the country just about every day like a candidate running for something, (doesn't he know that he already won the presidency?), whining at pre-packaged rallies (again, just like a campaign stop) about how he inherited a huge mess from former president George W. Bush and screaming, again like a candidate, that his policies, spending, etc. will undo so much damage done by the previous administration.

After 20 months and after radically changing the country and growing our deficit several times more than Bush ever did, with money we just do not have, he still blames Bush for the present problems.

*
At which point does a sitting president take responsibility for the state of the nation? Twenty four months, 36, 48?

*
Give me a frigging break! Americans are not stupid. After being elected, Obama's popularity and approval were over 60%, and now they are at 41% and dropping.

*
Once it hits in the 30 percentile watch all Democrats run away from this man like a sinking ship, the S.S. Obama-tanic.

Doesn't he get the message that the people are just not buying his whining excuses for his incompetence?

During the Bush years we all thought that he was spending too much and we were only talking about billions of dollars. This guy erased 'billion' from the dictionary and replaced it with 'TRILLION,' a figure nobody ever mentioned before he got elected, because we considered it impossible, not attainable, totally out of the question. Completely out of my vocabulary. And here is this man creating a 12 trillion dollar deficit!

Here we are, 20 months later and we just lost about 120,000 jobs last week, on top of another 120,000 or so which just gave up and are no longer looking for work.

So while the official unemployment figure remains at 9.5%, the reality is that closer to over 17% are either unemployed, stopped looking for work, stopped receiving unemployment compensation or are underemployed, working in low paying, mostly part-time jobs until something opens up in their field of work.

But Obama keeps insisting that this is Bush's legacy, but his policies will turn this bad economy around.

The economy is stagnant at best. Some say the recession is not necessarily over. Others say there's minimal growth.

The historical record shows that tax cuts boost growth and create jobs. Yet in January Obama seems set to let the Bush tax cuts expire.

*
He claims that the tax cuts only benefits the very rich, which is unfair, not to mention stupid.

*
Excuse me? The tax cuts not just benefitted the wealthy, but the small business owners as well.

And may I remind you, sir that it is the wealthy and the small business owners that create jobs and keep people employed.

Besides, even with the tax cuts, American corporations are the second most highly taxed companies in the world, right after Japan. So do not talk to me about fairness.

Is it fair that 57% of Americans pay 90% of the taxes the I.R.S. collects?

Which means that the other 43% pay for the other 10% or do not pay any taxes at all.

Yes, fair.

And 'big government/big brother' Obama keeps insisting in his permanent campaign tour that "the Bush tax cuts were "skewed to the wealthy." We don't need to cut spending but to recognize "the dangers of an unfettered market." Fat cats don't own the show, and they shouldn't be allowed to run it. Government is best. "Only government has been able to do what individuals couldn't do and corporations wouldn't do."

Scary words out of his mouth. Forget the corporations that have built this nation into the richest and most powerful in the world, as the government is taking over and pushing them aside.

Code words for 'not only will the government run business in America, but we will heretofore have a permanent alliance with the unions.'

He means pander to the unions. He means limit corporate free speech while not limiting unionists' free speech. He means make Service Employees International Union president Andy Stern, one of the most frequent visitors to the White House, a member of his budget deficit commission.

Like handing a fox the keys to the chicken coop.

So now let us grade Pasha Obama on immigration.

Just a few days ago the union representing I.C.E.,the Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents sent a letter to their boss in Washington, John Morton, giving him a no confidence vote and accusing him of playing politics and not allowing them to do their jobs, in fact tying their hands by not allowing them to incarcerate and/or deport illegal immigrants and to deceive the public by claiming that this administration has caught more illegals than the previous one and for bragging that they have 'audited' more businesses suspected of hiring illegals than ever before.

The fact is that Washington has not permitted I.C.E. agents to prosecute illegals and has forbidden them from raiding businesses suspected of hiring illegal aliens.

Last week the administration, from Obama, through Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and their cohorts received an embarrassing black eye when a twice convicted illegal alien from Bolivia killed a nun and gravely injured two others with his car. By law, Carlos Montano, the illegal alien should have been long deported back to his country, and yet he was allowed to go free while the government processed his case.

Unbelievable!

And in a news conference Secretary Napolitano was asked about the case and she said she did not know anything about it, but would investigate.

Can you friggin' believe that, from our head of Homeland Security?

Couldn't she have passed an order, a memo down the ranks, all the way to the agents explicitly saying that illegal immigrants that commit felonies are not to be set free, ever?

No wonder the I.C.E. agents are demoralized!

But instead of following the laws that exist already in the books, our government in Washington, in this case the Justice Department, under orders from President Obama sues the state of Arizona for passing a law of their own, which basically copied the federal law, in fact allowing its own law enforcement officers to enforce FEDERAL LAW.

So the government sues a state for enforcing its own laws.

And all of this due to misguided politics, as President Obama and the Democratic party believes that by protecting illegal immigrants they guarantee the Hispanic vote at election time.

The only people happy over the government's refusal to enforce its laws are the illegal immigrants themselves, millions of which have been in this country for years and cannot vote at all anyway. So which votes are they talking about?

Most immigrants that have come to this country legally, by first obtaining a worker's visa, followed by a green, resident card, and then followed by citizenship resent the illegals, as they had to wait their turn and took years to become voting-able American citizens.

Perhaps first generation, and perhaps second generation legal immigrants may sympathize with the illegals, as they are still very close to them culturally. But mostly third and fourth generation immigrants consider themselves full-blooded Americans and do not support illegal immigration.

Yes, most Hispanics do vote Democrat, but not because they support illegal immigration. It is only because most of them are lower middle class to poor and depend on a Democratic Washington for support, same as with most African-Americans.

These folks prefer a federal handout, which Democrats are known to support, than a hand to help them succeed economically, which is what the Republicans support.

Obama, Democrats and liberals insist that illegal aliens have civil rights, just like any other American.

Yes, transparent as in writing 1,500-page bills behind closed doors in the middle of the night and voting for it at dawn without even reading them, much less publishing them so that the American public can read them first.

Lawful and ethical as in Congresswoman Maxine Waters securing sweetheart deals for a bank where her husband had a financial interest.

But no, the accusations against these three members of Congress are racially-based, for you see the three of them happen to be black.

So in today's America, a nation that elected a black president, if a black person is accused of anything it is always by racist people, no matter the merits of the case.

Even this past week, a driver for a beer distributor in Connecticut, who was fired because he stole and then resold beer went to his place of work and shot 8 people to death. Before killing himself he called the police and told them that the reason he killed those people was because they were racist and had fired him because he was black. No matter that there was video evidence of him stealing beer.

In today's America, if you do something wrong and you happen to be black you can get away with it by just claiming you are being treated unjustly because of racism.

And Barack Obama's election was supposed to be the dawn of better relations between blacks and whites. After all, if a black man made it all the way to president, the sky would be the limit for all blacks, right?

Except for those that refuse to work in order to succeed. They continue to blame racism for all their troubles.

And of course, the reason President Obama has lost popularity and is opposed so strongly by so many is only because those that oppose him are racist. No matter that Obama's beliefs are socialistic, anathema to what America has always stood for.

And returning to the subject of ethics in congress. Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, an ultra liberal, married to Heinz fortune heiress Theresa Heinz has a multi-million dollar yacht, which he parks in Rhode Island to avoid paying thousands of dollars yearly in taxes if the yacht were parked in the waters of his home state.

And to underline his and his colleagues' hypocrisy, he bitches about American companies sending jobs overseas, while his wife's company, Heinz makes many of its products overseas, including in Canada and Mexico.

And you had deceased Senator Ted Kennedy and his clan, some of which are politicians supporting alternate means of energy, including wind turbines. But when they tried to build a number of turbines off the coast of the Kennedy Compound in Martha's Vineyard they blocked the project, as the turbines would interfere with their clean view of the ocean.

And you also have Nobel Peace Prize winner and champion of the environment ex Senator Al Gore, who took a gas-guzzling private jet to Stockholm to receive his award, and lives in a super mansion that uses enough electricity to light a small city.

So we return to the Black Messiah, Barack Obama.

What has he done in 20 months, besides passing highly unpopular bills and spending trillions of dollars, which we do not have in the first place, while threatening Americans with a fine or jail if we do not subscribe to his Obamacare 'healthcare' socialized medicine program.

He criticized George Bush for the way he handled the Katrina disaster, and yet he took days to even acknowledge the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, off the shores of Louisiana, an ecological disaster that will affect the region for decades to come. And took even weeks to meet with the executives of British Petroleum. And even then, he dragged his feet before allowing foreign companies and other nations expert in these matters from coming to our help in cleaning up the mess.

And on one hand he ignores the traditional National Day of Prayer breakfast, while attending a Muslim prayer event and even praying alongside his fellow, errrr, I mean Muslims that were present.

And he tells the Boy Scouts of America, who were having a 40,000 member jamboree celebrating 100 years of scouting in America and invited Obama to speak, that he could not attend, saying he had prior commitments, when the prior commitment was a fund-raising event for the Democratic party.

And he goes on his Magical Mystery Campaign Tour to Detroit to brag at a General Motors factory about a new car, a Chevy Volt that could travel a whopping 40 miles on one electric charge, while only (only?) costing $42,000.

Great achievement, except that Japanese Nissan already has a car, the Leaf, that goes 100 miles between charges and costs $10-$15,000 less than G.M.'s Volt.

Great achievement, big O! You spent billions of our dollars on a failing company and now you will have to eat their cars, because they still cannot compete with the imports.

If it weren't for their pick-up trucks, which are their best selling vehicles by far, all three, G.M., Ford and Chrysler would be out of business for good, as today's consumer prefers imported cars from Japan and Korea over American cars, only because they are both more reliable and cheaper.

And on the subject of foreign affairs you sure are an expert, Mr. president. Yes, because such affairs are very foreign to you, as in you not having the slightest clue about what is going on elsewhere.

The nuclear clock is ticking ever faster.

Take your pick, North Korea or Iran.

Or rather, pick your poison.

You may well pick North Korea, based on their reaction this past week because it sees as an act of war the huge military exercise currently taking place by South Korea and the US.

Again, funny-looking (but demented) strong man Kim Jong-Il is making noises about retaliating if any sanctions are applied to his country, but most of all by the display of military might by the US and South Korea, meant to send a message to North Kores in response their sinking of a South Korean navy ship last March .

Like a broken record, each time the world community chastises him for not disassembling his nuclear arsenal he threatens to wipe South Korea off the map, along with the 30,000 American troops stationed there.

Not just that, but he says he would even go further, as he would fire his missiles towards US territory, as in Hawaii and Alaska, and by the way hit Japan while he is at it.

Which is why Japan is considering seriously building its own nuclear arsenal. And we all know they can do it and really fast.

However, this time North Korea's threats of retaliation take on great credibility in view of their sinking by torpedo of the South Korean ship.

Just as threatening as the North Korean bozo is, and I do think he may actually go for it, there is another threat looming in Iran, also lead by another saber rattling bozo, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, its president.

Iran has not achieved building a nuclear weapon YET, but is ever getting closer to doing so.

So everyone is nervous.

Yes, Israel is plenty nervous, of course. The US is pretty nervous as well.

The other Islamic countries in the region are crapping in their pants.

They believe that a nuclear Iran will try to dominate that region of the world and will try to do so by force.

A nuclear Iran, lead by men just as mentally unstable as the nut in North Korea with the huge nogging.

Mahmoud Ahmajinejad, as we know continues to threat the international community if it does anything to hurt his country, such as a naval blockade, where ships going in and out are checked for weapons or weapon-making materials, freezing their assets overseas or interfering with its 'peaceful' nuclear power pursuit.

For you see, Iran, flush with oil reserves wants us to believe that it needs nuclear power plants as the source of the country's energy, such as electricity.

And we already know that for years he has promised to attack Israel with nuclear missiles in order to exterminate the Jewish nation. He does not just want to win a war against the Jews, but wants to kill every Jewish man, woman and child.

He is so blinded by his hate, or manufactured hatred, that he continually claims that the Jewish Holocaust during World War II, when over 6 million Jews were exterminated by the Nazis, mostly in concentration camps is false, just a very well created propaganda illusion created by Jews. According to him, the films, photos and first and second person accounts of the mass executions of Jews by the Germans is just a clever made up propaganda by Jews in order to first gain a homeland, as they did in 1948, and also to perpetuate the 'myth' of their eons-long persecution by others.

He even claims that the Jews occupying present day Israel are not even the legitimate descendants of the nation of Israel, to whom God promised such land.

He says that Palestinians are the ones supposed to own that land.

But a nuclear Iran no longer is just a threat to Israel. The fear of a nuclear Iran is equally felt and publicly expressed by its Islamic neighbors and though not voiced publicly, also by the rest of the Arab world.

Actually one Islamic nation did voice such fear openly, The United Arab Emirates, the consortium of seven Arab emirates located on the Persian Gulf, close enough to Iran to be swallowed whole by Iran in a matter of hours if it chose to do so.

They fear that a nuclear Iran would become a major world power bent on conquest of its neighbors and political control over the rest of the Middle East, sort of like the post Second World War dominance of the Soviet Union over Eastern Europe.

Clearly, Iran's intentions are two-fold, to gain political, military and physical control of the Middle Eastern Muslim countries and destroying Israel, the only non-Muslim and only democratic nation in the region.

A military alliance between nuclear Iran and North Korea would create the greatest threat the world has ever faced. A threat greater than Germany and Japan in the 1930s and during WWII.

Why?

Because while Germany and Japan were bent on world domination by force, deploying millions of troops and then state of the art military technology, which lead to the death of some 50 million people, before the US, Great Britain, Russia and their western allies crushed them after some 6 years of war, WWII still was a conventional war, with conventional hand to hand combat, tanks, airplanes, etc.

Only after the US dropped the first two atomic bombs ever made on Japan, did the war finally end.

That point in time was the starting point of the passing of old military strategies onto the nuclear age, where future world wars would be fought essentially by nuclear-tipped missiles and jet planes dropping nuclear bombs on enemy military and industrial installations as well as cities, thereby killing hundreds of thousands and even millions with the use of a single weapon, vacating the necessity for ground troops, tanks and other traditional weapons of war.

That is why the Iran/North Korea twin nuclear menace is the greatest threat the world has ever faced, as it could very well lead to the destruction of whole countries and millions of people within a couple of days, and if the war continues past those initial days it could even lead to the destruction of the planet as we know it, should both sides decide to use the whole nuclear arsenal in their possession, as while whole countries would be destroyed, the eventual nuclear fallout would kill most of the rest of humanity, if not all within weeks.

Sixty five million years ago a meteorite hit the globe with the force of 10,000 nuclear bombs, killing the dinosaurs and all animal and plant life on earth. Well, the world today has well over 20,000 nuclear bombs.

So the west, lead by the US and Israel is in quite a dilemma:

Should they allow these two countries to become ever more powerful and allow them to throw their nuclear weight around, which would eventually lead to war anyway. Or should they attack these two countries preemptively by surprise and destroy their nuclear capabilities before they become too powerful to be stopped.

The first option would eventually lead to a nuclear holocaust. The second is one the west is not too sure about, as they do not know if such a preemptive strike would actually destroy their nuclear capabilities, which would lead to such holocaust anyway.

This is a decision which Israel is grappling with right now.

They take Iran seriously and are convinced that once the Iranians build their first nuclear weapons they will strike Israel with the missiles they already possess. So Israel feels they must destroy Iran's nuclear facilities before they can do so.

But Israel is not sure they can actually destroy all of Iran's nuclear installations, which are scattered all over the country and are also hidden well below ground precisely to withstand such attacks.

On the other hand, Israel feels that not trying that would lead to its destruction, even if they have enough lead time to deploy their planes loaded with nuclear weapons.

The thinking there is that if they are going to be destroyed anyway, they at least could cause plenty of damage in retaliation before expiring. Like a person pinned against a wall by assailants, they know they will get beat up, but they feel they can at least land a couple of punches before they go down.

It is my personal believe, based on my present observations and on Israel's history of never backing down while being threatened or attacked, that they will attack Iran once they are assured that the creation of an Iranian nuclear bomb is eminent.

Actually, were it not for the pressure applied by the US not to do so now, Israel would have already done that. Their thinking is 'Why wait for the inevitable when we can destroy their nuclear machine now?'

But the US, which historically has been Israel's main ally and all along has been committed to go to Israel's defense in the event of such a war, is trying to delay the inevitable, naively thinking they can convince the Iranians to back down from building nuclear weapons.

These naivete is the product of having a president that is inept and that does not have a clue where global affairs are concerned, and by the way also sympathizes with the Palestinians, who demand a nation of their own.

This president, Barack Obama is also very weak-minded in matters dealing with foreign affairs and is afraid of both international criticism and afraid of the response by both Russia and China.

A George Bush, or even better, a Ronald Reagan would have already given the green light to Israel to attack Iran, backed by the US.

A Ronald Reagan would tell the international community to stuff it and would dare Russia and China to interfere, dangling its military superiority in front of their eyes.

Russia and China, evil as they are cringe at the thought of losing Moscow and Beijing to a couple of American nuclear bombs. Not just because of the loss of life, but because it would be a huge psychological punch to its people. They would much rather save their capitals over the appetizing prospect of bombing Washington and New York.

At the other end of the map still lies North Korea, actually a worse threat than Iran.

North Korea already possesses a number of nuclear weapons, aimed towards South Korea, whose capital is just a handful of miles south of their border, where 30,000 US troops are stationed, also aimed towards Japan, which has close to 130 million people and thousands of American troops, and is a major ally of the US, and towards Hawaii and Alaska, as their missiles have already proven to reach that far.

In fact, even if North Korea and Iran do not have a military pact, if Iran starts a nuclear war in the Middle East, they would take advantage of such a diversion to attack its enemies.

And to take it even further, while the US is occupied with Iran and North Korea, China would use such the diversion to at the very least invade Taiwan, another ally of the US, withe which it has a military alliance. So a war started by Iran and North Korea could also involve China as well.

And there is also the scenario of India and Pakistan going to war against each other, as the US would again be too busy fighting wars on multiple fronts to stop these long-time nuclear enemies from attacking each other.

And lastly there is the scenario of Russia taking advantage of these events by carrying on its current plans of recovering the former Soviet satellite countries on Eastern Europe, if not expanding even further.

So what could be started by Iran and or North Korea, or even by Israel could set off a domino effect that would involve the whole world, perhaps with the sole exceptions of Africa and Latin America, but I would not rule them out, either, as there are mad leaders in those regions as well.

And my friends, this could take place as far off as a couple of years from now, or as soon as a few months from now, if not sooner.

I am not a sage. I am not a prophet, although plenty of prophets, mainly in the Bible have pointed to this day, 'the end of days.'

But I am smart enough to watch closely what is taking place all over the world as we speak, analyze it and arrive at this conclusion, an educated conclusion.

My only suggestion to you is to make your peace with God and pray that the pain is short-lived.

The mass murder 78,000 square-foot facility, was opened by Planned Parenthood, the public name of 'Murder Incorporated.'

And to mark the occasion the place was sort of 'Christened,' as for some warped reason they referred to this place as 'Holy and sacred ground.'

A Planned Parenthood official first made the statement, and the audience then repeated his words, as if it were some sort of tent revival meeting.

Who were they praying to? Certainly not to my God.

Were they using the words 'sacred' and 'holy' as they chanted to Satan?

They 'religiously' believed that a shrine built to the abortion god, where unborn babies up to 20 weeks after conception are killed, is doing sacred and holy work.

Executing tiny human beings is sacred and holy to these people.

Sacred: Devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose; consecrated.

Holy: Specially recognized as or declared sacred by religious use or authority; consecrated: holy ground; dedicated or devoted to the service of God, the church, or religion; a holy man.

These practitioners of infanticide are applying religious terms to in utero slaughter.

These people obviously do not know God, or the 6th Commandment, "Thou Shall Not Kill."

So certainly they must have been chanting to a pagan god of their own.

Reminds me of the Old Testament, where people used to sacrifice their children to the pagan god Moloch, until the one and only God intervened and forbade them to kill anymore anymore.

In a similar vein, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, a self-professed 'devout Catholic' last week, on July 16th received a major award from Planned Parenthood for her unending support for abortions, in this case over her ramming through Congress of the new health care act, which allows the federal government to pay for abortions on demand.

Many still claim that the new law does not provide for abortions. Then how come Planned Parenthood awarded this award to Speaker Pelosi for the sole reason that she managed to include that provision in the bill?

By the way, the woman that handed the award to Ms. Pelosi, Planned Parenthood's president Cecile Richards used to be the Speaker's Chief of Staff in Congress.

Who you hang out with says a lot about who you are.

This is a bill that was strongly opposed by every pro-life group and the Catholic church in America.

Ironically, at the very height of the health care debate, even as the U.S. bishops were stepping up their efforts against the bill and its abortion funding, Pelosi publicly invoked one of the most prominent Catholic saints, St. Joseph, who is also revered by Catholics as “patron” of the unborn, to help pass the health care bill.

"Today is the feast of St. Joseph the Worker," Pelosi told reporters on Capitol Hill on March 19th. "It's a day where we remember and pray to St. Joseph to benefit the workers of America, and that's exactly what our health care bill will do."

The gall of this woman is just amazing!

It was not the first time that Pelosi has attempted to reconcile her pro-abortion views with her professed faith.

During a now infamous interview on Meet the Press in 2008, Pelosi was asked by the interviewer, "When does life begin?"

In a display of hypocrisy and convenient ignorance she responded by sidestepping the question, mentioning her Catholic faith as the source of her uncertainty.

"I would say that as an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time," she said. "And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition."

She actually also said that even today the Catholic Church is still debating the issue, again showing her blatant ignorance, as forever, and purposely in Pastoral Letters issued by the present and previous Popes, the Church restated that it is the official doctrine of the church that life does begin at conception.

End of debate.

Immediately after the interview, Pelosis's Catholic Bishop publicly lambasted Pelosi and reiterated the church's doctrine. And during a visit to the Vatican, the Pope reprimanded the Speaker over her ignorance and official stance on abortion.

Why the church does not excommunicate influential public figures like Pelosi and a number of pro-abortion Catholic members of Congress is something that I cannot understand, and a source of frustration.

And yes, almost 50 million babies have been killed since 1973, the overwhelming majority out of pure selfish choice, as in 'pro-choice.'

To put it in perspective, during World War I some 24 million civilians and soldiers were killed. During World War II a bit over 50 million were killed. The Soviet Union's Joseph Stalin executed, or allowed to die from the cold and malnutrition more than 30 million of his country's men, women and children, Mao Tse Tung of China also executed some 40 million of his people.

And plenty of noise was made about Cambodia's Pol Tot executing some 2 million of his people, and international human rights groups constantly denounce the ethnic cleansing of millions in Africa and other places.

And in the U.S. almost (and a figure soon to be reached) 50 million babies have been slaughtered. So the U.S. government and bleeding hearts have no moral right to criticize human rights abuses and genocide overseas while keeping their mouths shut over the infanticide of babies unable to defend themselves.

Every day women have their babies killed because it may be an inconvenience to go through 9 months of pregnancy, because they do not want to spend any money caring for a child, or they may have broken up with the baby's father, or are so promiscuous that they do not even know who the father is, so it is expedient to just 'get rid of that thing,' or they convince themselves that they are 'just not ready to have a baby,' or the most deplorable excuse of all, they use abortion as a means of birth control.

Never does it enter their minds to carry the baby to full term and then give him to a loving family that may not be able to have babies of their own.

Rather than tolerating a nine-month “inconvenience” to bring life into the world, the mother decides the baby must die. The baby must die, on “sacred and holy ground.”

Sick and profane.

It’s a mockery, and there will be an accounting when they eventually must face the one and only God, when millions of babies will rise from their graves, (actually medical toxic waste trash bags) as witnesses for the prosecution.

Tras publicar el articulo que escribí julio 11, ‘MEDIO SIGLO DE FRACASOS DAN PASO A LA RECONCILICION,’ recibí un numero mayor de correos electrónicos de los que normalmente recibo opinando sobre mis escritos. No me tomaron de sorpresa, pues tras publicar el artículo me arme con una coraza en espera a opiniones bien variadas, pero sobre todo las de carácter volátil.

Por supuesto que la mayoría fueron escritos por compatriotas cubanos.

Unos, escritos por cubanos más jóvenes que yo, y un par de veteranos que a través de los años también han cambiado su actitud hacia el tema, fueron positivos, pues generalmente estaban de acuerdo conmigo.

Pero a la vez recibí un buen numero de correos de otros compatriotas, por lo regular de mi generación, y mas viejos también, digamos que no muy contentos por la postura que tome hacia la reconciliación con Cuba.

Era de esperar, y como buen hombre aguante los flechazos que me enviaron.

Pero un tema popular ha sido que en vez de dedicarle tanto espacio al tema de la reconciliación, debí haber escrito más profundamente sobre la realidad actual en Cuba y sobre los presos políticos.

Pensé que lo había hecho, pero para calmar los nervios y no ser responsable de que a algún viejo tomador de café en el Versalles o La Carreta de Miami le fuese a dar un ‘patatús,’ pues dedicare este articulo al tema de los presos políticos en Cuba.

Un típico lector del New York Times, periódico que durante los últimos años ha dado un virón serio hacia la izquierda, mientras pierde cientos de miles de lectores anualmente, diría “¿caramba, los Castro solo han encarcelado unos 150 presos políticos?” “¿Entonces porque tanto furor sobre la falta de derechos humanos en Cuba?” ¡Caramba, nosotros tenemos encarcelados en Guantánamo casi el doble de prisioneros!

El New York Times es el periódico que en 1959 declaro que “No solo es cierto que Fidel Castro no es comunista, el es decididamente anti comunista. Mas en Cuba no existen comunistas en posiciones altas en el gobierno.”
*
Esta vez el NYT reportó el parte emitido por AP, (Associated Press, Prensa Asociada), otro órgano ‘noticioso’ con lazos al gobierno castrista desde que Fidel bajo de la Sierra Maestra.
*
Primero, a la AP se le ha concedido tener su propio buró en La Habana. Ese privilegio no es concedido fácilmente. Para lograrlo el órgano noticiero debe demostrar simpatía hacia el ministerio de propaganda cubana, o al menos ignorar ciertos hechos normalmente difíciles de ignorar.

Segundo, los reportajes emitidos por la AP durante la rebelión de Fidel Castro durante 1957 y 1958 fueron escritos palabra por palabra por un agente de Fidel Castro en Nueva York.

¿No lo creen?
*
Este dato ha sido confesado por el propio autor de tales despachos fraudulentos, Mario Llerana, quien eventualmente defectó a los Estados Unidos. Ya libre el escribió un libro titulado ‘La Revolución Insospechada,’ (traducción literaria del nombre del libro en Ingles), donde el revela su participación en el arreglito que entonces tenia la AP con Castro.

Mas de cincuenta años después, hace apenas un mes la AP reporto, o transcribió un despacho entregado por el ministerio de propaganda de Cuba sobre la respuesta del gobierno castrista a las acusaciones del gobierno americano de fomentar la esclavitud sexual y prostitución juvenil en la isla:

“Estas vergonzosas difamaciones hieren profundamente al pueblo cubano,” según Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, del buró de asuntos norteamericanos del Ministerio del Exterior, del cual ella es directora. “No existe abuso sexual envolviendo a menores en Cuba, sino en vez un esfuerzo ejemplar por proteger a los niños, jóvenes y mujeres.”

La AP no mencionó, (ni otros órganos que repitieron la historia, incluyendo el Miami Herald y hasta Fox News, el canal de TV noticioso y normalmente conservador) que la Sra. Ferreiro fue expulsada de los Estados Unidos en el 2003, acusada de espionaje.

Fíjense bien en la fecha de su expulsión, y recuerden el comienzo de la guerra contra Irak. Entonces el Coronel Christopher Simmons, cuyo puesto era investigar supuestos espías cubanos para la Agencia de Inteligencia del Departamento de Defensa norteamericano, quien fue parte responsable de descubrir los pasos del grupo de espionaje al cual la Sra. Ferreiro pertenecía. El Coronel sospecha que muchos secretos militares que ella transmitió a Cuba eventualmente llegaron a manos de Saddam Hussein.

De poco le sirvieron, excepto quizá apurarlo a esconder, trasladar a otro pais, (Siria?) o destruir sus armas biológicas o nucleares, las cuales aun insisto que el tuvo.

El reciente despacho de la AP que menciona que solo existen entre 150 y 200 prisioneros políticos en Cuba carece de investigación periodística un poco mas profunda.

Por ejemplo:

Un reporte interno preparado por la Comisión Cubana sobre Derechos Humanos (me reiría sino fuese tan triste) y la Reconciliación Nacional, el cual alguien copio y lo envío al exterior en el 2003 reportaba que en cientos de cárceles cubanas habían decenas de miles de individuos que en los países civilizados serian considerados como presos políticos.

El disidente cubano Vladimiro Roca, cuyo padres Blas Roca fue uno de los fundadores del Partido Comunista en Cuba, por cierto, dijo “‘Aquí, a la gente los meten en prisión por cualquier cosa.’ ‘Si un individuo mata a una vaca para alimentar a su familia, pues lo meten preso. Esa es parte del método del gobierno para mantener control sobre la población.’”

El Miami Herald publico un reportaje detallando el reporte de la Comisión Cubana sobre los Derechos Humanos.
*
Según el reportaje, “Los estimados 300 presos políticos en Cuba forman tan solo una fracción del porcentaje per capita de prisioneros políticos mas alto del mundo entero.”’ ‘“Cuba hoy día cuenta con un estimado de 100,000 presos repartidos entre 200 prisiones y campos de trabajo forzado, (por cierto, en la Cuba pre-Castro solo existían 12 prisiones en Cuba).’” ‘“Un reporte de la Naciones Unidas sobre la situación de los derechos humanos en Cuba estimo que en la isla habían entre 100,000 y 200,000 prisioneros de todas las categorías.’”

Por supuesto que calcular el numero exacto de prisioneros sufriendo en las cárceles cubanas seria tan difícil como calcular los millones dentro de las cárceles de Josef Stalin de la Unión Soviética, (y serian muchos mas si el no hubiera ejecutado a casi 30 millones de sus compatriotas).
*
Irónicamente, Cuba es parte del Consejo sobre los Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas.
*
De nuevo me reiría si no fuese tan triste.
*
Y dentro de esa capacidad prohíbe a ese consejo enviar personal para investigar las condiciones en las cárceles de Cuba.
*
Para ayudar a la AP, sus clientes, el New York Times, y el Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos en calcular y comprender la cantidad de prisioneros en Cuba, listaremos un grupo pequeño del tipo de ‘crimen’ que le costaría a cualquier cubano caer en una de las prisiones en la isla condenado entre varios meses y mas de 30 años.

1. Decir “!Abajo Fidel!” o “!El Che era un asesino!” o decir un chiste sobre Fidel o sus compinches, según la constitución cubana le costaría al individuo 18 meses en la cárcel.
*
2. Viajar al exterior sin permiso oficial del gobierno, lo cual solo se les permiten a los lacayos del gobierno.
*
3. Cambiar de trabajo sin permiso del gobierno.
*
4. Cambiar de domicilio sin permiso del gobierno.
*
5. Publicar cualquier escrito sin permiso del gobierno.
*
6. Tener computadora, maquina de fax o antena satélite sin permiso del gobierno.
*
7. Acceso al Internet sin permiso del gobierno. Lo que se comunica por el Internet esta bajo vigilancia continua de la policía secreta cubana. Solo 1.7% de la población tiene acceso al Internet, un porcentaje mas bajo que países tales como Nueva Guinea. Esto, en una nación que antes de llegar Fidel Castro gozaba de más teléfonos y televisores per capita que la mayoría de los países europeos.

Por cierto, yo tengo una prima y una sobrina en Cuba que tienen computadora en su casa, y mi sobrina tiene acceso al Internet. La razón es porque sus trabajos las obligan a trabajar también desde sus casas y sus trabajos necesitan el uso de computadoras, y en el caso de mi sobrina, acceso al Internet. No por eso son fidelistas, sino que ese es el tipo de trabajo que tienen, como sucede con otras personas.

8. Ver canales de televisión o escuchar canales de radio del exterior. En cuba todos los medios de locución son propiedad del régimen estalinista.
*
9. Vender cualquier propiedad personal, servicios, comidas preparadas en la casa o cualquier otra cosa sin permiso del gobierno.
*
10. Tener contacto con periodistas extranjeros.
*
La lista es mucho mas larga, paginas tras páginas, pero citar todas las razones debido a las cuales los cubanos pueden ser encarcelados alargaría mucho este artículo.
*
Esa es la realidad de la Cuba de hoy día. Realidad que la mayoría del mundo desconoce, ignora o no acepta.
*
Solo cuando se lleve a cabo un cambio de régimen y regrese la democracia a Cuba sabremos con exactitud la completa verdad, incluyendo cuantos cientos de miles de presos hoy día se pudren en cárceles cubanas, cuantos han sido torturados, y cuantos han sido ejecutados.
*
Y por supuesto, si este tema es discutido entre cubanos en la isla, y el gobierno se entera, pues la población encarcelada aumentaría.
*
Por eso se, por fuentes dentro de la isla, mas otros que han salido que me lo han contado, cuando los cubanos en la isla comentan sobre los lideres, el gobierno, las condiciones de vida, etc. utilizan una seria de palabras claves para no mencionar nombres que con solo mencionarlos los meterían en problemas.

Cubanos al fin, el pueblo no es tonto, pues han encontrado forma de comunicarse entre ellos y discutir sus condiciones de vida de forma que parezca que están hablando sobre lo bonito que esta el día.

Como decimos los cubanos, 'se las saben todas.'
*
Pero vuelvo y repito lo que escribí en mi articulo del día 11, “MEDIO SIGLO DE FRACASOS DAN PASO A LA RECONCILIACION,” estas condiciones existen hoy día, y los culpables y dirigentes de que se lleven a cabo son por lo regular veteranos de la ‘revolución,’ mas otros mas jóvenes que comparten sus ideas estalinistas. Pero como digo a menudo, h.P.s existen de todas las edades, y Cuba no es diferente.

Tras el cambio y la reconciliación, estos jóvenes h.p.s serán identificados por el pueblo y ellos serán los que habiten las prisiones que para entonces quedaran prácticamente vacías.
*
La única pregunta es si esos h.p.s llenarían las 200 cárceles, tal como tantos pobres compatriotas las abarrotan hoy día.
